  1. Hey guys! I know you are all anxiously waiting to hear if you get accepted. I was in your shoes last year at this time! Stay positive!! Just a few more days. I'm really excited for you all and can't wait until they send the good news! Fingers crossed for your guys. Good luck!!
  2. A friend of mine is a nurse and she was able to get a 3M Aura 1870+ N95. I asked her to get an extra one for you too! ? I just picked them up. Please feel free to text me 778-389-6910 and we can arrange something for you to pick it up. I live in Coquitlam but I work in Vancouver.
  3. I was able to track down 3M N95 but they 8210 and 8511. I know these aren’t listed on the website so I’m not sure if they will be OK or not?
  4. Any update about this? I have an appointment to be for tested tomorrow with Vancouver First Aid. Their website says they have Niosh 8210 approved KN95. Trying to do this in the middle of mask shortage is tricky!
  5. All their classes are online? I was really looking forward to being on campus and meeting everyone ? It's going to be such a different experience moving to fully online learning. Does the current class have any hospital placements right now? Or have they been put on hold?
  6. Hello everyone, I'm sure probably everyone has heard that UBC plans to transition to online learning in September for large classes. I am wondering how this will apply to the nursing program in particular and if all our didactic courses be online?? The Offer of Admission letter also indicated that clinical experience starts towards the end of September. However, now I am curious if we still be able to participate in clinical placements? I've emailed the UBC Faculty of Nursing asking these questions, and asked if they will be issuing any further information/ details to incoming students about what to expect with the new changes in September, but I haven't heard back yet. I haven't confirmed my acceptance at UBC yet - I'm not sure exactly what to expect in the fall. Has anyone heard any further information about what to expect in September? Have most people accepted their offer or is anyone else waiting to hear more information??
  7. Hey guys. My SSC is updated today and I received another email. It states “Please note a maximum of 50% of your new degree program can be fulfilled using credit from your previous UBC program and/or prior post-secondary studies. Contact your faculty advising office to determine how your previous studies can be used to fulfill your new degree” I’m not sure what this means. Is it because we are entering into “third year” of the nursing program? Did anyone else get this email??
  8. Hi Jennie. My average was 89.6%. I have a Bachelor of Dental Science in Dental Hygiene. I have around 1000 volunteer hours ranging from working on the downtown east side in Vancouver, a month in Africa at a dental clinic, various departments at UBC hospital, the Special Olympics Healthy Athletes program and the BC Cancer agency. My first and last name are both in the last part of the alphabet. Good luck to you! Stay positive!
  9. I just got my acceptance email! Oh my gosh oh my gosh oh my gosh
  10. Oh WOW!... by April 30? I wasn’t expecting to hear from them until next week. Reading comments from previous years it seemed like we would hear the first week of May. But we might possibly hear this week?? That’s amazing. Fingers crossed!
  11. Hey everyone! This is my first time applying and like everyone, I’m getting anxious waiting! I reached out to my references today to see if they have been contacted - and they said they haven’t been! I’m not sure if that’s a bad sign or not! Does anyone know when they contact references? Has anyone had their references contacted yet?
