UBC Nursing

Published

Hi all,

I was just wondering if anybody is also applying to the UBC Nursing program this year for the 2009 intake...and also, for those that are in the program, or have graduated from the program, would you kindly please tell me what the program is like, as well as your admission average (based on the 30 credits that UBC Nursing looks at) and your supplemental application...to better prep myself for the application process.

thanks in advance.

When I click that link, it takes me to some page that you have to log in..and I'm not sure how that works. Maybe we should ask them how it works.

Tranquility 319, the link works for me. You might want to try rebooting the computer before clicking the link again. Hope it works!

it still doesn't work for me o.O how do you get it to work...or do you need to have a microsoft outlook account..?

Erm, what I mean is that the link WORKS, but i don't know how you log into the site after you click on the link..ehehe, in case my messages are confusing.

Hmm...that's weird. I just simply clicked on the link and an pdf would pop out.

What about try copy the link to a new browser and hit "return"?

How strange o.O the link ONLY works for me if I copy and paste it into the address bar. Weeeeird. But thanks a bundle :D Are you in for the 2009 intake as well Orchid1218?

Glad it works now, no problem! :p

I'm in too! What group are you in?

I'm super excited about being given a chance at UBC Nursing xD

Oh...I read it wrong. Sorry! I am not for 2009, I am getting ready for the 2010 one. Still have the Physiology and Anatomy classes need to finish. Any advices for me? :)

Oooh cool xD We'll test the new curriculum out for you guys then =P

As for Anatomy and Physiology...study regularly. The terms and details add up very quickly...don't get behind. A good grasp of Grade 12 Biology helps =)

We all newbies will count you guys to test them out for us! :)

Thats a very good reminder !! Thanks.

Do you think in general its hard to get into the program, was the interview hard??

Hey Orca

Apparently there is a place in Langley called "Pro-One Uniforms". They are suppose to have really good supportive nursing shoes that look somewhat fashionable :p I'll probably check them out sometime before school starts in September--which is so soon!

see ya

Hey guys, I just bought a pair of shoes today at the Shoe Company. The brand is Merrell, and it's got great arch support, antimicrobial linings, anti-slip soles, all leather, and it's pretty darn comfortable. http://www.merrell.ca/catalogue.php?action=1000&product_id=222&sku=66370&section=b2c&menu_id=70 It's not the prettiest shoe in the world, but hey, at least the feet'll be happy after 10 hours.

(Oh man, I just realized that our clinicals ran from 8am-6pm...)

Orchid1218,

I wouldn't say the interview was hard. The interviewers did try to make you feel comfortable and put you at ease. The format of the interview does create a more level playing field, I find, than most other admission interviews. You can't necessarily prepare for it since the scenario-based questions are simply unpredictable.
