UBC Nursing

Published

Hi all,

I was just wondering if anybody is also applying to the UBC Nursing program this year for the 2009 intake...and also, for those that are in the program, or have graduated from the program, would you kindly please tell me what the program is like, as well as your admission average (based on the 30 credits that UBC Nursing looks at) and your supplemental application...to better prep myself for the application process.

thanks in advance.

Hi, I was wondering if someone could help me with these two questions.

1. Would a W-standing(withdrawal) on the transcript look very bad/make me a bad candidate/jeopardize my chances of being admitted?

Thanks to all in advance!

I can tell you, with personal experience, that having a "W" on your transcript will not affect your chances of admission... at least it did not for me.

And to answer an earlier question in the thread, the staff did say the average age for the 2009 September in-take was 27.

Hey there,

I was wondering, where you heard that uCal guarantees acceptance for people with GPA of 3.0/4.0 or better? Also, the GPA you are referring to is for the last year (or 30 credits) of study, correct?

Thanks!

Hi,

Im currently in first year sciences at ubc and i just a couple questions with the supplemental. (ive been looking over things in advance for the application so figured id ask the questions while they're still fresh in my head) Hopefully someone can help me out :)

1) about clubs (technically "memberships in organizations"):

-Does anyone know if ubc nursing has a way of checking out if you participated in clubs?

-also, i dont have any friends who are in clubs, but to stay a member in them.. do you need a certain level of participation?

-i did not join any this year and am not sure how many i can add on for next year and still be able to handle school.

- any ideas on what else could be included in this section besides clubs

2) about the education history part:

- how many awards would you advise in listing.. i have a number from high school but it just doesnt feel right listing them..:\

- i know a large sample of the applicants tend to be mature, so post-secondary awards vs highschool... highschool doesnt stand a chance ..:\

3) about life experiences

- besides travelling any other suggestions for these..

- i unfortunately havent had the opportunity to witness a birth, ect

Thank you in advance
