Hey Everyone!
I'm hoping to apply for UBC nursing 2013, but I am a little worried as I haven't volunteered for 2 years. My question is, if I get back into volunteering this summer will my chances of being accepted be higher?
Thank you!
I think we should hear back around may 7th. That is what I read form older posts.
I've been creeping previous threads and some cohorts found out about a week after interviews ended but last year it took 2 weeks. The Associate Director said the person sending out the acceptance/rejection letters is going on vacation so hopefully it won't delay the process. Really I am hoping it will speed everything up :)
I don't know if im being too hard on myself. I felt like I repeated myself a lot and I didn't like the probing. I just wish I was asked why I wanted to be a nurse... definately didnt enjoy the process.
Thanks for being brave enough to mention that! I feel the exact same way.... but it seemed as if everyone else was quite confident about their interviews, which made it a bit disheartening to know I didn't do as well. There is often a tendency to focus on the negative when looking back in hindsight, so try to fight it and keep hope! You never know :)
I hope everybody is projecting positive thoughts, and that it will translate into good news! :)

I recall her saying that the person who is sending them out is aiming to have them done before she goes on vacation, so hopefully we'll know soon! :)
I am very hard on myself as well. This can be a good and bad thing. This is always listed under my personal weakness, that I find for myself. But I am hard on myself, so that it makes me strive for greatness. So I can see that in a lot of you folks who are posting here. It already says something about yourself going and checking on this thread. ....I've found that it shows just how much me want this. :)...so that is on our side.

I was thinking the same thing as you! I had a perfect answer prepared for why I want to be a nurse, yet I could only talk about it during our chit chats with our interviewers. It's hard to show our passion for nursing without being asked that question. I think it is crucial!
