UBC BSN September 2017

Published

Hi Everyone!

I've been searching for a thread for applicants to UBC's BScN program for September 2017, but I haven't found one. Please feel free to point me in the direction of an existing thread, or add to this one! I'm applying to UBC, U of T, and UWO for September, but UBC is definitely my first choice. Looking forward to hearing from everyone!

:)

Yes when we find out who is accepted we can maybe share our emails and send each other a roommate resume with our personality, background and living style and see if we can find a place together. I am planning on renting a room (I am from Victoria) just to get over there and then, if it is less than desirable it will be easier for me to network and find another place.

That's a good idea! Even for those of us currently planning to live on-campus, this would be a good backup.

The transit in Vancouver is amazing so as long as you are close to a skytrain it's easy to get around. All skytrains end downtown and thats where you get the bus to UBC. I figure even if I have a commute I can use that time to get readings done. Trying to take one thing at a time though, it's so hard not to to think 1000 steps ahead but first thing is getting accepted!

Thanks for the info lindsayn! You're totally right about not thinking 1000 steps ahead... I was just forced to think about it since I'm not from B.C. and had to apply for res early in the hopes of getting a place.

Anyone else have a feeling that we're not going to hear anything until Friday at 4 pm? Haha. My other two offers expire early next week, and I'd prefer to have more than two days to make such a huge decision.

@tdmah, as money goes, you can pay the deposit and reject the position later. It does lose some money but does, literally, buy you some time! Otherwise start planning for all alternatives! must be stressful..

I also hate that its tuesday and the day is flying by with nothing from UBC

Hey Everyone,

I haven't posted here yet but I just wanted to mention that my roommate's friend has already received a rejection notice for UBC Nursing. Maybe no news yet is good news?

Hi esm13! Maybe no news is good! When did they get this rejection notice??

@esm13, that is such a shame about your roommate's friend. Rejection always hurts. Did s/he receive an e-mail, or was it on their online application status? I keep checking both religiously hoping for some news. Keep hanging in there everyone! The waiting game is seriously painful.

Thanks for the update!

I agree with to-be-nurse; you're going to be spending a ton of money on education in the next few years, the deposit to extend your decision time would be worth it.

Also, you have TWO other acceptances already?! I thought it was just U of T. You won't believe how unequivocally jealous I am of you!

@to-be-nurse $500 is a lot of money, but you're right. I need to buy some time!

@wonkknow I was also accepted to Western yesterday :)

I think it's so nerve racking waiting endlessly until Friday. I've been checking my phone like every 5 minutes to see if I got any email and if I see any email notification, my heart sinks everytime. It's becoming pretty stressful. I hope we get the news asap.

I was really hoping today was the day! I really hope we don't have to wait until Friday at 5pm to find out or worse they send them out late. The constant checking emails is really hard and tiring.

Congrats to those accepted to other places. Hopefully we will hear back soon. Cant wait to figure the next part out :)
