No, they don't

But I've been attending a different school Jan-Aug 2019 since graduating from UBC. That's why I was wondering if I still have to submit that

Hm, maybe to be sure, just email Ruxandra and let her know! Then tell us what she says! Personally, I'm sure we only send transcripts up to the time of application with any in-progress pre-req courses or credits that are counted in our admissions average, but it's good to confirm!

Just got an email for my registration date :D

I'm getting so excited!

Since I just got the news yesterday, I’m still waiting for my SSC to update so I can accept! So I probably won’t get the registration email for some time (not that it matters bc we are all registering for the same  timetable?). But I’m just curious, when are your registration dates??

Thank you!!!!!! Thanks for all your support along the way 😊 I think so!! I have heard some pretty convincing arguements on why I should go to BCIT instead, but I still have such a strong desire for UBC‘s program!

Does anyone know if UBC students (only attended UBC) submit a transcript?

I attended Corpus Christi and SFU from 2014-2015 before attending UBC, and Ruxandra told me that since I'm still a current UBC student (I'm just taking an English course at Langara for fun this summer, which doesn't count for admissions/doesn't transfer to UBC anyway lol), I didn't have to send in my transcripts from Corpus Christi and SFU since the credits were already processed as UBC transfer credit.

I think the biggest factor is the 20 months! I can't wait to go into the workforce so I can get those 2 years done before pursuing MN-NP at UBC again

That's a big factor for me too! Working in Vancouver proper for the rest of my life is important. I've heard that BCIT is WAY more rigorous than other nursing programs, including UBC, but I'm just glad UBC put in more clinical hours!

I plan to get an MN-NP as well!!

Hi everyone,

I had a great time talking to everyone over the past few months. However, I have decided to choose UofT nursing over UBC. Another spot on the waitlist will open up. It kills me to have to turn down such an amazing school and program, with such great students! Thanks for all of your help, and I wish nothing but the best to all of you in the future! We shall all be great nurses someday!

I decided to go to UofT as well instead of UBC so another spot will open up! Breaks my heart esp after seeing ubc’s campus but I plan on pursuing MY MN-NP and hope to do it at UBC! The programs are very similar I’m sure (since both schools hold high prestige and are research focused). See you at UofT!

Hello everyone, I just graduated this year from UBC nursing. I could help answer some questions if there are any regarding program or anything. One thing I want to mention is I was also on waiting list (my number was late 20s I believe?) and was informed before the June 15th. I know people could even get accepted up to the day of orientation so you never know!!

Hi Ethereal,

I know UBC changed its program and now its clinical hours are on par with BCIT's. I still hear people mentioning that BCIT nursing graduates are more prepared in practical sense (initially) than UBC nursing graduates. What's your opinion on this matter?

Hi jennifersgj!

Yes, our cohort was the first cohort with the new revised curriculum and they did increase lots of clinical hours, including increased preceptorship hours I believe. Since I did not go to BCIT nor know anyone who is going/went to BCIT, I cannot speak about comparing UBC graduates to BCIT graduates. I heard lots of great things about BCIT though.

One thing I know, however, is that there are quite some people I know in our cohort who got hired right after the preceptorship. I think it really depends on individuals. I heard great opinions about both school graduates from different nurses from different clinicals throughout the program. Hopefully that helps.
