Hi everybody! I haven't found an active discussion thread for September 2019 applicants to UBC's BSN program yet, so here is one!
I too have applied! I have a BA in psychology and have worked the last two and a bit years in the mental health/developmental disabilities field. I also do special needs tutoring on the side. My GPA on the last 30 credits was 83.5, not sure how I did on the Casper test! The waiting is brutal.

Welcome, Natalie! Your application sounds great! There are so many great applicants, it sure is going to be hard for admissions!
I personally got wrecked on the CASPer lol.. but I am still hopeful!
Good luck ?
Thank you!!!
Yes the CASPer was the hardest part for me, I definitely felt some of my answers weren’t the best in hind sight, but what’s done is done!
I did have some volunteering on my application, but have recently started a new volunteer position I wish I could go back and add on
im from ubc okanagan! Anyone else from the okanagan area?

Aw your application and GPA sound great! I hope everything turns out well for you!! There’s just so many applicants who seem super qualified with high GPAs, well-rounded volunteer experiences/hobbies, or a combination of both that it’s hard to pick out the best people.
Sweet! Out of curiosity, I know UBC Okanagan has a 4-year Nursing program. Did you apply for that, too?

No I didn’t, I thought about it but the thought of 4 years was brutal! I love my job and being able to work, so I decided that I’d rather work another year and save and do things to bolster my application to re apply next year if needed! I really wish ubco had an accelerated program!!

I am, born in penticton and raised in the south okanagan! I'm currently at school in Alberta and hoping this application cycle goes well so I'll have a chance to move back to BC! I agree though, the CASPer was tough, I honestly can't remember a single thing I put down for it aha

Awesome!! Best of luck! I love Penticton, such a beautiful area! I live in Vernon but work in Lake Country!
Just found this thread. I've been on edge all month and for some reason I thought I would hear back at the beginning of April. It's so nerve racking waiting until the end of April. This was something I decided to do in November and I did my undergraduate four years ago, so the application process was a little rushed for me.
Did anyone apply anywhere else? What are your back up plans? I've applied and been accepted to the Douglas pre-nursing program for Sept. And I think I'm going to get my ducks in a row to apply to BCIT as well...?

I'm still an undergrad too! (I discontinued during my 4th year of the UBC Food, Nutrition, and Health major after realizing Nursing was what I wanted to do).
Starting summer class in May at Langara and it's the longest wait ever. My SSC status still hasn't been updated yet - it's been "ready for an evaluation" since Feb
