UAB AMNP 2017

Hey everyone! I'm currently a student at The University of Alabama at Birmingham. I graduate this December and I'll be applying to UAB's AMNP program this Fall for the Spring 2017 class! I hope this group/thread can be used to help each other out through the application process. Also, to anyone currently in the AMNP program, please don't hesitate to drop in and share your application experience! :)

Yeah, they go by whichever GPA is highest. They explained to me that they sometimes choose the last 60 hours because they understand that not everyone starts strong in college, and that there are some people (like me, for example!) that started to take college seriously after their first or second year.

How awesome is that!

The wait is so stressful and this school actuallly does their app process pretty quickly. Has anyone asked how many applications they received this year? Just wondering if they got their normal amount.

There was speculation that they were getting hundreds this year, but when I went to an info session recently I asked. All she said is that they get "about 130 applications a year and accept about 70" and that they definitely haven't gotten hundreds. I don't know any further specifics though!

Hey ya'll!

I am part of the 2017 cohort as well.. And freaking out with you! I am so grateful for all the information posted... I was getting worried that I hadn't heard back from them yet but then I saw your post that we should know by the 12th. Best of luck to everyone! Wouldn't it be great if we all get accepted and then we can all meet up before classes start?! :D

I have never been this nervous about anything in life!!! Omg. Did anyone else apply to the 2nd degree BSN program as well?

I was told November 1st. I don't know if that will be through email or regular mail. But I am hoping that I am accepted for AMNP so don't even have to worry about it!

I called the program manager to see if I could get any new information. Lol. Nothing. But she did confirm that we should receive emails by the end of next week. She said you will either recieve an interview request or recieve notification that you were denied. So to be safe I wouldn't be dead set on hearing something on Wednesday but we should definitely know by the end of next week!!
