I am in the current cohort as well! I'm happy to answer any questions as I found it super helpful being able to talk to people that were in the previous cohort. You will definitely be working as a nurse in phase two. The program is full time Jan- Dec, I personally would have never been able to work during Phase I, but maybe one or 2 people did in our class (they're awesome!). You will take a leave of absence in the beginning of Phase 2 From January until either the Summer or Fall semester (whenever you decide to start back). That's when you will take the NCLEX and secure a job! I have heard from previous cohorts that working during Phase 2 is a breeze after facing Phase 1. You won't take more than 2 classes during your Phase 2 and it's all online aside from a few mandatory campus visits for skills check offs. Let me know if I can help answer anything else!

Is anyone using the recs from your current application?

I've talked to some who were accepted during their interview, and others who weren't!

In my information session, the facilitator asked for a "show of hands" of people who would be working during the semester. She then said she definitely wouldn't recommend trying it during phase I, or at least until you're acclimated to the rigorous pace. It's difficult... how are we supposed to pay for school and living without jobs :***:? I guess that's what they think loans are for... As for my speciality, I've had my eye on the dual acute/ primary care pediatric NP. I really think I want to practice in a private setting, but the dual certification would definitely give me more flexibility when it comes time to lock down a job.

Didn't someone give us information that x number apply, x number get interview, x get accepted? Just trying to see the odds!

I'm not completely sure. I was never given a specific date either, but that's what has been going around! Plus they probably have to give people who are OOS plenty of time to make travel/ lodging arrangements before the last week of October! Just a thought.

Can we please pause for a moment and talk about how it's October 1st which means.... ONLY 12 more days until we find out about interviews!!!!!!!

I live near Homewood! Unfortunately, I wouldn't recommend trying to live downtown unless you're willing to spend an extra chunk to live at either the Moretti or the Venue! Southside and downtown are known for being sketchy and having tons of break ins. There was actually just an armed robbery yesterday. Be safe!

Has anyone submitted the scholarship application? I am a little bit confused because it tells me to send the recommendation form to my professors/ employers and then I am responsible for submitting it. However, on the recommendation page itself, it tells the recommender that the student will not see the page... could anyone explain?

I was told in the information meeting that they have room and resources to expand the program if there are enough quality applicants... whatever that means.

I really think they keep stats under "hush-hush" because I have searched through the trenches of the internet and nothing!

Has anyone asked when the committee is meeting?
