UAB AMNP Spring 2022

Published

Hey everyone! I'm creating this thread for people applying for UAB's AMNP Program of Spring 2022 as a place for us who have questions, advice to give, etc.!

I was missing 2.

How many prerequisites were you missing when you were told that?

It good that they are still considering you. I heard that some have already gotten rejections. Are you taking lab now?

In the fall…. It wasn’t offered in the Summer.

Hi everyone,

I applied to this program and met the priority deadline, but I received an email saying that my application will move forward for consideration with those applying for the regular deadline in September. I was not given an early interview. I only have a lab left to take in the fall in order to satisfy all prerequisites. I don't know how much confidence I should have left for this cohort. Any thoughts or advice?

Hey, sorry to hear that. It was the same for me; I’m currently in nutrition so I’m assuming not having that one prerequisite completed exempted us. My friend who’s currently in the program said not to stress over it bc there are several people in her cohort that applied for priority but didn’t get accepted until after the regular deadline. Good luck?

Thank you!! Same to you. I’m hoping we will all be okay. :)

Does anyone know what kind of interview questions we can expect? Good Luck to everyone! ?

Hey everyone! I am in the current cohort and got a notification about a post on our old forum asking about interviews. Our schedule was all over the place for interviews because we were in the height of covid, but if they do it the same as they did with us you will meet with 2-3 current faculty. The interviews weren’t super long and the questions were pretty general and vague. You definitely don’t need to know anything specific about nursing for the interview. Good luck!

Did they happen to say why they were rejected so early in the process?

Does anyone know the stats of roughly how many applicants get interview invitations vs accepted? Also anyone else really nervous about the interview?!

I don't know stats but I'm in the really nervous boat with you! I'm interviewing on the 19th - when's yours?

Mine is on the 20th! To confirm it's not a group interview right? It sounds like we are all staggered

Yeah I'm pretty sure they're individual. I'll try to remember to let you know how it goes! I've been doing some research and this website seemed helpful for interview prep: https://theinterviewguys.com/nursing-school-interview-questions/ : )
