UAB AMNP Spring 2022

Hey everyone! I'm creating this thread for people applying for UAB's AMNP Program of Spring 2022 as a place for us who have questions, advice to give, etc.!  

They said they will be sending out invitations this week. I know one day for interviews is July 19th and I can’t remember fully but the other 2 days for priority interviews are 21st and 22nd. If you don’t make the priority interview, they will hold your application for regular deadline. I got this info during the info session zoom meeting last week from Leah(who manages out applications). The only thing I couldn’t remember fully is interview days 21st  and 2nd so you may have to double check on that.

Thank you for that, I’ll probably attend the info session again tomorrow. Is this your first time applying?

No it is my 2nd so I hope it works out this time LOL.

Aghhh well good luck to you. I’m sure you have it this time!! Did they tell you why? Or do they not contact you at all if you’re not accepted?

Thank you! Hopefully you get in too! Yes they told me that I needed to finish all of my prerequisites. Also, I didn’t apply by priority deadline last time either so I think that played a part.

I believe interview invitations have been sent out! I got mine this morning.

Yes I just heard. CONGRATULATIONS ? that’s awesome! unfortunately I didn’t qualify, per the email they sent. Did you have all of the pre-requisites taken? I’m currently in nutrition so I’m wondering if that’s why.

Yes I have everything completed. I think the 1 prerequisite left is probably why you didn’t qualify for priority, but I’m sure you’ll be fine!

I guess one of my rec letters wasn’t submitted, do you think that had an impact on me not making the priority deadline?

From what I’m hearing it had to be fully completed.

Hi everyone,

I applied to this program and met the priority deadline, but I received an email saying that my application will move forward for consideration with those applying for the regular deadline in September. I was not given an early interview. I only have a lab left to take in the fall in order to satisfy all prerequisites. I don't know how much confidence I should have left for this cohort. Any thoughts or advice?

How many prerequisites were you missing when you were told that?
