UA MEPN 2020

U.S.A. Arizona

Updated:   Published

Hi everyone,

I'm considering MEPN application to the UofA next year. I've been in touch with the advisor, Chris Sogge, for the past 3 years. I have a B.S. in Computer Science and a M.Sc. in Biology from Canada . Chris said that I need a pre-req GPA of 3.7 at least to get into the program; mine is 3.3. Do I stand any chances? Did anyone get in with lower pre-req grades? I'm trying to juggle pre-req taking with a toddler. Thanks so much for your advice!

Marina.

Hi all,

Best of luck to those who are applying. I am a MEPN grad currently working in the ICU. Let me know if I can answer any questions. ?

Congrats! Which location did you complete the program at? If given the option, would you complete this same program again if you could go back in time, or a different one? I guess another way to ask is, do you have any regrets completing the MEPN program over another one? and any advice for, hopefully, future students in this program ?

Thanks!!

Did anyone else submit their applications yet? I submitted my NursingCAS and the U of A graduate school one yesterday.

HESI was super easy. I would make sure and review vocabulary from the practice tests. The first time I took it I got a 98 on vocab then the second time there were several words I’d never heard of so ended up w a 94. There’s a lot of ratios and several conversions (grams/kilograms etc) on math. English and reading aren’t really stuff you can study for. Good luck!!! I’m applying for tucson. 4.0 prereqs 3.6 last 60 and 93.5 hesi fingers crossed that’s good enough. I hear more people usually want tucson.

I ended up with a 93.5 on my HESI as well. I am happy with that score! Thanks for the advice

I submitted my application last night. It was marked as Complete this morning. I believe it still needs to be marked as Verified. Can anyone confirm this? And if so, how long did it take to verify?

I will be submitting mine later this week since I have 2 classes I’m finishing up so hoping my profs get my grades in ASAP ?

Yes, they still need to be verified. I actually wrote NursingCAS asking and this was their response:

The last comment didn't let me finish before replying! Let's try again.

Yes, they still need to be verified. I actually wrote NursingCAS asking and this was their response:

"Applications go through the verification process each year. As you have submitted your application, you will receive an email once this application has become verified. The processing time is no longer than 2 weeks."

Hopefully the deadline is just to have all submitted, not everything also verified.

Fingers crossed! I hope your school is one that allows electronic official transcripts. Most of the schools I've attended did have electronic, but one did not. It took longer, but not as long as I thought it would. NursingCAS notified it had arrived about a week later.

Yeah I have submitted electronic transcripts for 2 other schools and they received and confirmed receipt the next day. I have talked to the CON about it and it should be fine if they’re late as long as I let them know and it’s not too long after the deadline.

Anyone find it weird how dead this thread is compared to last years?

Where is everyone?

Hahah I’ve though the same thing. Hoping it’s bc less people are applying this year ?

I was thinking the same thing! It looks like in past years conversation picked up in January. I wonder if the deadline is earlier this year, since at least last year based on the thread interviews were in late Feb, and this year they're scheduled for Feb 1. I hope it means we'll hear something in 4-6 weeks!

Is anyone else applying from out of state?
