UA MEPN 2020

U.S.A. Arizona

Updated:   Published

Hi everyone,

I'm considering MEPN application to the UofA next year. I've been in touch with the advisor, Chris Sogge, for the past 3 years. I have a B.S. in Computer Science and a M.Sc. in Biology from Canada . Chris said that I need a pre-req GPA of 3.7 at least to get into the program; mine is 3.3. Do I stand any chances? Did anyone get in with lower pre-req grades? I'm trying to juggle pre-req taking with a toddler. Thanks so much for your advice!

Marina.

Oh thanks for sharing the schedule that’s not as bad as I thought. Looks likes there’s time to study? I thought it would be all day mon-fri and study like crazy at night and on the weekends.

Hi all,

Also applying to the MEPN 2020 program, but keeping my options open with a few other Tucson BSN programs available. I'm finishing up A&P this Fall at Pima. Took the HESI and scored a 90, I'm planning on taking it again in October/November with a goal of 95+. I haven't calculated my last 60 GPA yet, but it's approx. 3.4 with my Pre reqs being 3.7. My first degree was from the U of A back in 2009, a BFA in Graphic Design. From the information session I went to, it looks like some sort of volunteer/leadership will be weighed in admission. I'm currently in the process of setting up a volunteer position this month.

At the info session what did they say about not being done w your a&p class in time for the dec 15th deadline? Dec 15 is the last day of classes but also the deadline for the application. I’m just starting my second semester of a&p through rio Salado online so I can be done and have it on my transcript before the deadline but I hate taking online classes and wouldnhave much ratcheted done it in person. I’m going to the info session in a couple of weeks.

So, since they work so closely with Pima and other CC in Arizona, they said to contact admissions at the CON when you turn in your application to let them know when your final grades will be in. I think Pima is done either the day before or the day after applications are due...of course.

This is what we were given, but it's super generic, and of course could always change by next year. Use with caution!

Hi all I am new to this thread! Does anyone have information on when interview decisions would go out?

Hopefully everyone has found grounding during this stressful time!

Hi all,

Best of luck to those who are applying. I am a MEPN grad currently working in the ICU. Let me know if I can answer any questions. ?

Hi guys! I’m applying to the 2020 cohort and am so nervous/excited!

I have a 3.49 pre-req GPA, a 3.83 last 60, and I’m taking my HESI next week (I know, a little late).

I’m so thankful they’re also looking at experience this time, and I’m hoping that’ll help make up for my prereq GPA.

My goal is to get into the Phoenix campus but I would be happy no matter where ?

Hopefully get to know you all soon!

It looks like interviews are going to be the 2nd of Feb and they will contact all applicants about two weeks before with interview decisions.

Hi everyone!

I have mostly completed my application and will be applying for Phoenix campus!

My stats

3.73 last 60 GPA

3.64 or 3.73 PreReq (depends on whether they accept my lower level A&P or upper level in the transfer)

I am taking the HESI this weekend.

Any advice on the test? I haven't really studied but the practice tests I have taken have been very easy.

I am also hoping they do take a holistic look as I worked as a Nurses Aid for 2 years and as an ED scribe for 8 months.

Good luck to all applying and I will update as I go along.

I did get accepted into Creighton's accelerated BSN program last year but turned down my seat in hopes of getting into this program!

HESI was super easy. I would make sure and review vocabulary from the practice tests. The first time I took it I got a 98 on vocab then the second time there were several words I’d never heard of so ended up w a 94. There’s a lot of ratios and several conversions (grams/kilograms etc) on math. English and reading aren’t really stuff you can study for. Good luck!!! I’m applying for tucson. 4.0 prereqs 3.6 last 60 and 93.5 hesi fingers crossed that’s good enough. I hear more people usually want tucson.
