Hi everyone,
I'm considering MEPN application to the UofA next year. I've been in touch with the advisor, Chris Sogge, for the past 3 years. I have a B.S. in Computer Science and a M.Sc. in Biology from Canada . Chris said that I need a pre-req GPA of 3.7 at least to get into the program; mine is 3.3. Do I stand any chances? Did anyone get in with lower pre-req grades? I'm trying to juggle pre-req taking with a toddler. Thanks so much for your advice!
Marina.

So basically if you got an interview you had a very good chance of being selected. I dont remember the exact numbers though.
I think you’re right! From what the admission PowerPoint says, they had 320 applicants last year. I think Chris said they asked 180 to interview for 132 spots. They also mentioned having 2-3 waitlist spots, but that it’s rare that they are given admission.

Yeah, somewhere in the application it said to make sure you apply to both at the time of application...

Thanks for confirming! So about 75% get accepted from the interviews.
I too submitted the UA grad app at the same time I submitted the NursingCas application. From previous years it looks that they allowed people to complete the Grad app after being offered admission to the program but not sure if it is different this year! I would check in with the admissions office. My guess is if you got an interview you definitely are still up for consideration without it

When I went to the info session they didn’t give a specific date it was due by and eluded to it can be done when we are offered a spot so I haven’t done mine yet. I do have my fingerprint card already though which they said in the interview email needs to be done ASAP.

I believe that in order to accept admission you have to have applied to the Graduate college already. But I would send an email to the nursing college to double check.
