UA MEPN 2020

Updated:   Published

Hi everyone,

I'm considering MEPN application to the UofA next year. I've been in touch with the advisor, Chris Sogge, for the past 3 years. I have a B.S. in Computer Science and a M.Sc. in Biology from Canada . Chris said that I need a pre-req GPA of 3.7 at least to get into the program; mine is 3.3. Do I stand any chances? Did anyone get in with lower pre-req grades? I'm trying to juggle pre-req taking with a toddler. Thanks so much for your advice!

Marina.

I was offered one too!!! I need to celebrate! I hope I can meet some of you all on interview day, especially any who are hoping for Phoenix cohort!

wooo!!! Finally!

Yay! Congrats everyone. I was offered an interview as well.

I also got an interview! I am from out of state and really hoping to be able to swing being there in person as I have not yet toured the campus. I was wondering if anyone has insight into how many people apply to the program and how many people are offered interviews and so on?

Thanks in advance! Hope to meet you all soon.

Just saw mine, too!

I live about 2000 miles away, though, so I'll have to see how that will work. Hopefully they'll allow a skype interview - not sure I can swing a flight with my work schedule that just changed due to coworker being out unexpectedly on medical leave.

Time to figure out the logistics - so excited!

When I talked to an advisor awhile ago he said that last year they had about 350 applicants to the program, 150 or so got invited for an interview, and 120ish got offered seats. So basically if you got an interview you had a very good chance of being selected. I dont remember the exact numbers though.

Wow I hope that’s accurate! I was thinking they would interview like 200+ for the 120 seats but that would be awesome if it were less.

Who knows if they did everything the same way this year, since they are switching things up a bit. But lets hope so! I like those odds.

Does anyone know the format of the interview? Or any current students have insight on how to prepare.

I am of course guessing run of the mill questions such as why nursing etc. Is this the time we showcase our experience in the healthcare field and how it influenced our career choice or will there be more situational questions such as "when was a time that you experienced an ethical dilemma in the workplace what was it and how did you handle it?" I have never had an interview for school so I am curious about the types of questions that will be brought up! Thanks.

Hi everyone! Congrats for getting here so far! I also got an invite to interview. I applied to the PHX location but I would accept any Tucson if offered. I was a dental hygienist for 7 years, but I haven't worked or volunteered since I had my son 2 years ago so I'm hoping that they will consider that as "experience". I can't believe I didn't find this thread earlier. So excited, but I'm also super nervous about the interview. I don't do well in interviews ? Good luck to everyone. Looking forward to meeting you all there hopefully.

Hi, Just wondering if anyone has applied to the grad college yet. Does anyone know if there is a "deadline"? I can't find any info online. Thanks.
