u know there is a "pre-nursing student forum

Nursing Students General Students

not to be ugly but i really enjoy post by other nursing students. i understand that there are times when pre-nursing students need help. .. but there are way too many, and i am finding it hard to enjoy the forum that was created for us! i believe fellow nursing students agree... we work very hard and enjoy the chats on being in nursing school.

You know, if we oldster RNs posted something like this about Nursing Students in our forums, we would get chewed over and spit out as "Eating Our Young".

Please don't eat the nursing students, especially when you still are one.

My thoughts exactly.. I was thinking when I read the OP that this sounds like a person with the potential to become one of those kinds of nurses.

OP, please stop and think about the last time you had a nurse that treated you like a lesser life-form because you are a student.

And as a side note..thanks a million to all the nursing students ahead of me that put up with my brain picking while I was pre-nursing, and thanks to all the current nurses I bug now that I'm in the program. And thanks ahead of time to all the experienced nurses that I will ask a kajillion questions of once I graduate. There will never, ever be a time that I have "arrived"..I'll always have nurses to look up to and learn from.

this bears repeating on a lot of threads here lately.

Folks it is just a board. Not your life. Don't sweat it. If you don't like a particular thread or poster, ignore them. Just take it easy. And try to have fun.

I seriously cannot believe this was made a thread. As a 4th year BNS student, I love to read the pre-nursing comments and questions! I needed questions answered when I was a Pre-nursing student, and came here for answers and always found the help I needed (with a smile). It is my pleasure to help back. I could go out on a limb and say that I am frightened by that type of comment beacuse it leads me to believe you are on the road to being a RN who doesnt welcome students, foster leadership & encourage those whoh arent quite there yet!

I hope you understand where I am coming from, and I dont mean to sound judgemental, but thats where my thoughts go upon reading that post.

With the "it's mine, not yours" mentality nobody wins. Just my 2 cents!

Well there's one student who won't be coming back here anytime soon.

I hope so......... :)

I don't even notice what forums I'm looking at . . . I just always go to the most recent posts and click on the ones I'm interested in. I don't stay on one forum.

Tweety said it best - don't sweat the small stuff.

As a pre-nursing student I would like to thank all who replied to this post. It is great feeling to know that pre-nursing students are welcomed by the majority on this board. I have received some great advice and answers here in the past!

I too came here as a pre nsg student and although I did get the odd "Are you even a nurse "? comment...all around it was great. :)

Does the poster really want the student nursing forum to be only for those that are currently students? Should all of us who are graduate nurses, fresh faced RN's and experienced nurses stay away and not respond to messages on this board? I deliberately stop by at this forum so that I can give a little hope to those who are coming up behind me, but if I'm not wanted.......

You are very wanted here, as are those who aren't quite in their programs yet. We help those who are still working on pre-req's and we get help from those who have graduated already. We are not an island. All nurses cross this path one day and we should all be warned of the obstacles in our paths.

We don't have time to waste on negative remarks or people. Lets keep moving on. There are people here who are about to take their NCLEX and those who are even starting new programs soon. Lets move on!

i feel that if this really was a problem the moderators would move the posts. this is general nursing student discussion, remember.

i know people have said this before me, but thanks "cooler than me  " nursing students (and rns that post here)!!

Wow, was there anyone who actually agreed?

I hope not. :p
