Hey everyone,
The applications haven't started yet for University of Calgary, degree holder, January 2016 but I wanted to make this so we can all suffer through the application process together!
Post your questions here!
@mainurse sorry to hear the news, don't give up this wasn't my first application round. If you get in next year, you will have friends there that will be willing to help you through :) with those text books, notes, and advice on how to study for your tests :). Keep your chin up guys, all the best.
I just spoke with admissions. They are still at the 3.5 cutoff and they do not expect to move from that. They are currently full as far as offers go but have given everyone 10 days to accept their admission offers. If for some reason, they do not all accept the offers, they have four students with 3.49 who will get the call. So, if you're on the cusp, keep your fingers crossed!
Hey kneuroknut, my gpa was at 3.55. There's been a few issues with my application (I took college courses before completing my undergrad at a university, and then had my masters at a different university, so there were quite a few transcripts to contend with; plus, I applied on August 31st).
Best of luck securing a spot!
Congrats to all who got in. Get on your vaccinations guys! some of them take long and you have to have things handed back in by Dec 11!! Bare minimum go do your HepB booster if you haven't had one in a long time - takes a month till you can check for immunization. Get your flu shot and get proof, if you were born abroad and you don't have proof of varicella - you need blood work. Other than that go see your doctor and get photocopies of vaccinations for MMR, Polio, HepB, Diphtheria, Pertussis, and Tetorifice (you need a dose of this after you turn 18), You need a Tb test as well.
DanSutherland - I don't think textbook list will be posted on calgarybookstore.ca until probably a week or two before classes start (from my experience). HOWEVER, if you're interested in seeing how much textbooks will cost, you can go online now, and choose the NURS courses that we will be in next semester and the textbook list should technically be the same!
Thanks for starting the FB group Carlene85! I look forward to meeting everyone! (unfortunately I will be missing orientation due to travel plans that I booked months ago)

@kneuroknut it's very frustrating... I will be taking some courses through Athabasca and might try summer courses at Uofc as well to try to increase my GPA.
