U of C Degree holder/Transfer Route Nursing Jan 2016

Published

Hey everyone,

The applications haven't started yet for University of Calgary, degree holder, January 2016 but I wanted to make this so we can all suffer through the application process together!

Post your questions here!

Loans are applied for yearly generally but I know it's a bit different when classes go through the summer semester. Right now you should look on the U of C website and see what classes you need to register for and do that. They will be sending out info packages once they have let everyone know they have been accepted or not.

Congrats on getting in! It's nice to "meet" some of the other program students!

I have applied for and been accepted for loans. If you're in alberta, google Alberta Student Loans, and apply through the website. I was ,only able to apply for the first semester, I think. I can't tell you how to apply if you're in another province or country.

On the U of C portal where you see your checkmarks, you can enroll in classes. The open enrollment button is under the announcements, but above the status, on the right. I hope that makes sense. It's nursing 285, 287, 288, 289. Tuition can be automatically received from the loan people, or it'll be deposited into your bank account.

You need to do the vaccine worksheet, get on it now since there may be things that you need to have done. Police check, N95 mask fitting. I have a doctor appt at the school for a Mantoux test in November when I'm there for another thing.

All of the info is under current students, I think, on the U of C page. I bet it'll all be in the information package when it arrives, but it is taking its time to get here.

I contacted admissions and they gave me a timeline of 4-6 weeks until I hear back. Wouldn't all the spots be filled up by then??

@Amigone, I got you PM but the site says I am unable to reply. Yes I am in for U of C. Thanks.

Hello,

NIC and NOC books. Are they necessary? Could I e-book these ones?

Hi everyone, I am wondering what is the first step to get in to the program. I had my bachelor's degree from a different country- BSN. I'm not sure how my papers are gonna be assessed. Do I need to submit my HS and College transcript as it is? or do I have to go and enrol to take the missing courses first? I did take A & P in college but that was only 3 units, I want to skip the IELTS exam and just take ENGLISH 255 as well. Please enlighten me. I just don't want to waste time and money. Thank you.

The best way is to show them your transcript (scanned and emailed, screenshot, mail etc.) and ask them which courses are transferrable.
