do u believe that taking nclex-rn really have to do with luck!?

In a way, I do. NCLEX is nothing like any of the practice tests I did, the millions of questions I reviewed, or anything I could ever imagine. It seems like it wants you to 'know something', but can't figure out what that something is. I had meds I didn't recognize, a few diseases never covered, and too freaking many 'pick all that apply'. I passed the first time with the minimum amount of questions, yet, I still stay strong in believeing that it was luck and God.

Instead of praying to God that I'm going to pass, I'm going to think "Crackers." Heh heh.

play nice notice being placed here.

personal attacks are not needed, and one's religious beliefs are theirs, and only theirs. please do not try to tell someone that they are good or bad if they do not believe the same as you.

NCLEX is a mystery! Heh heh. It's all supposed to be scientific, but they probably just have a trained parrot who taps on a keyboard to determine who passes or fails.

Now, WHAT would make a non-thinking entity like a computer decide to sock it to you after it has determined that you can handle it??? It is a mystery...my computer had an attitude with me by at least question #10...LOL

Don't underestimate the parrot! He's been picking nurses for years.

thank you for being the voice of reason. i apologize for participating in that discussion and won't again.

Now to get back to the original topic that was asked:

NCLEX exam already knows that you made it thru an approved nursing program somewhere in the world or you would not even be sitting for this exam. The exam is based on Common Sense with the ABCs thrown in. It wants to know what you will do with certain information that you will get about your patient and what you are going to do about it. You do not always have the luxury of going to look up everything before you start your assignment at the beginning of your shift. So who will you see first when you get out of report? And if there are problems with two of your patients, which one has the more serious problem?

The focus of the exam is on priority. Not what faith that you have, and faith does not pass exams. You do it because of the work that you put into getting to that point.

Please stick to the topic that was asked.

Think it has more to do with educated guessing than with sheer luck. Also, I feel God's part has to do with whether or not you are on the career path He wants for you. If you made it all the way to the NCLEX, there's a pretty good chance you may be on the correct road (and, maybe not). Now, with God, there is where the mysteries lie. But, I do believe there is a reason for whatever happens, good or bad-I'm just not that smart to know what it is.

i totally agree with u Pagandeva 2000. Every body has right to give his on opinion. i also strongly believe 50/50 (knowlegee and luck). I said that becoz i took my exam 2nd time and i passed topic came in exam i was strong in these areas. And first time i got all of topic that out teacher skipped and i never tested for that topic and i failed. i am so agree whatever u said in ur last thread.

I have found that during my review class, I learned about many things that the nursing course skipped over and was thoroughly disgusted. I felt that I had to play catch up with those subjects only to not be questioned on them at all. Now, with all that has happened, I really felt that NCLEX itself does NOT determine the quality of a nurse. You are just regurgitating what they want to hear...whether it makes sense or not in the real world.
