TWU Spring 2018

Published

Hi!

I haven't seen a thread made for the TWU Spring 2018 application process, so decided to start one! I'm the type to worry, and I know I'm not alone, so what better place to vent than here? For anyone wondering, the application date for Spring 2018 is August 15th, 2017!

My GPA comes out to a 3.720 with TWU preference. I haven't taken my TEAs yet, but plan to soon.

How about y'all?

Hi all, I've been watching this thread for a while now. Okay, so I'm super nervous because I applied to Dallas and I have a total of 50.97 points; my nursing GPA is 3.6, an 88.7 TEAS, and I have a previous bachelor's. And, of course, I would psych myself out by reading other threads... Who else is applying to Dallas?

Who all is going to the TWU Houston open house this Sat??

I am!

I am!

Me too! :) See you bright and early!

Hey y'all! I'm late to the party- hoping to apply for Fall '18 since I was not able to get my application in in time.. For the people going to the information meeting tomorrow, could you post about what they talk about? I'm just curious to know the average GPA/TEAS score and point number accepted. I emailed advising not realizing the applications for Spring haven't been completed so I doubt I'll get a response back. Thank you!!

I wasn't able to make it this morning, either. Any info you guys receive would be greatly appreciated!

I went to the open house this morning. A lot of the information shared was some of the same information that, since we're past the application phase, most of us should already be familiar. Things such as gpa, TEAS scores, the actual application process. They went a little more in depth about financial aid and when the best time to apply would be. They also spoke about parking, the cost and the different options available.... let's see, they also talked about the different activities that they have for students on and around campus. We had some current students tell us about their experience with the university, what they know now and what they wish they knew entering the program. What I liked the most about the open house today was that one of the speakers, (who I'm assuming is a professor, I forgot her exact title) went through the classes for the upper level division, semester by semester, and told us in a broad sense what to expect as far as what our work week will look like. Basically she was like expect to be in class this many days and in clinical this many days and expect this type of exam for this kind of class.. She did say that what she has noticed is that the students who struggle the most are the ones that don't have a strong a&p, micro and chem background. She said chem not so much as the other two but she did include it. So if you haven't already began brushing up on those subjects, it might be a good idea. Before I forget they also mentioned looking into the idea of externships during the summer once you start. I wish I could go more into detail, I'm sorry guys! Lol I was so tired.

Awesome!! Thank you so much!! What specifically did they say about TEAS/GPA? Like average scores and stuff?

about the excel worksheet, anyone knows why when I typed in everything and somehow my point turned out negative? :(

Thanks in advance

Did you fill in the individual subject scores of your TEAS? Just entering a single composite score doesn't complete the calculation. You have to enter a score for each subject.

I did that, too. I entered the grades and semester hours (all with numbers) and all the TEAS scores (with % values). I noticed that the TEAS scores appeared in red color instead of black though.

Can somebody please tell me how to get to the points excel sheet? I did it a few months ago and now I can not seem to find it!! Thanks in advance :)
