TWU Spring 2018

Published

Hi!

I haven't seen a thread made for the TWU Spring 2018 application process, so decided to start one! I'm the type to worry, and I know I'm not alone, so what better place to vent than here? For anyone wondering, the application date for Spring 2018 is August 15th, 2017!

My GPA comes out to a 3.720 with TWU preference. I haven't taken my TEAs yet, but plan to soon.

How about y'all?

Thank you!!! :) haha you and my brother have the same name

How are yall calculating your point totals if you don't mind me asking?

I feel like a pest...lol but that's an advising sheet. It doesn't show a point calculation system

you are suppose to enter the number not the letter grade. so if you got an A you will enter '4' and a B IS '3'. Then you enter your teas score at the bottom and check if you have a prior degree.

I hope you and I get in so we can be classmates! I applied to Houston also! i have a 82.7 on TEAS with a bachelors so i have 42.5 pts

That's a great score! Prior bachelors definitely helps , I wish I had one. I hope we become classmates as well! :)

Can you please post a link to that site where you enter your TEAS score? If that is not possible, can you tell me how much a TEAS score of a 88.7 is worth and how many points are credits that were earned through AP or ACE programs worth? Also, does prior degrees include associate degrees? If so, how much are they worth per AA degree?

no it asks for bachelors degree

I am not too sure if i did this points thing correctly. I have 60 points...I scored a 90 on my TEAS. Does your teas score contribute points??

That's awesome! Hope your exam goes well today. I remember you posted about your schedule a little bit, like m-t was full day of classes and then you have clinicals/lab. Has that changed at all because of Harvey? Do you start clinicals right away? Sorry for so many questions! I am going to open house this weekend as well but I am so curious and impatient :p

Ok So I'm going to try to answer all your questions... If I miss something let me know cause I'm running on about 6 hours sleep in the last 72 hours!

First things first.... according to the professors the entire class did very well! However, I put the work in, I calculated and I studied about 17 hours in the last 3 days for that exam, and I spent an additional 12 hours on lab work (there's a bit of work for labs that you have to do on your own before lab)

So our first two weeks were crazy because of Harvey, but the school was great. For classes that we missed there was a two-fold approach. One was that they added extra labs and lectures the first week back to cover the material and catch up. A few assignments exams and the such were pushed back 1 week. Some things could not be pushed so the extra classes were added but only for the first week.

Our schedule since last week has been normal. All the first week's classes were uploaded online since so many students still could not come to school for various reasons. The school, administration, professors, and upperclassmen have gone above and beyond in helping us...

Clinicals will still start as planned, 6 weeks in. The labs are fun, and the professors teaching them are excellent. They explain EVERYTHING, every detail is laid out, and you are walked through everything with plenty of time to practice and learn. Our professors are always available and responsive, and everyone is soooo supportive! I don't know what else to say, It's been overwhelming, exciting, exhausting, and amazing all at the same time!!!

Good Luck everyone, it's almost time!!! Look forward to seeing you all around campus soon!

Is the grey number beneath notes your point total? If so, it says 49.79 and I just want to know if that is competitive for the Houston campus.Took all my prereqs courses at community college/during highschool and no prior bachelor degree.
