Is anyone out there applying to TWU for the Spring of 2010? Just thought that I would start a group for all of us hopefuls so we could share information and have a way to communicate with each other.
Have you taken your HESI A2 yet? Have you taken all of your pre-reqs? If not, what do you have left to take?
I have taken all of my pre-reqs, and I just took my HESI yesterday. I didn't think it was bad at all, but I prepared for it for about 3 weeks.
If you haven't noticed, TWU has made some slight changes that I think some people will not be happy with. They are taking into consideration the first grade made at pre-req attempts for several of the classes like A&P, micro, and another class. What do you think of this? I wonder how it will change the applicants chances of getting in?
Good luck and I look forward to meeting you!
This whole situation makes me nervous. After hearing horror stories about mix-ups at other schools, I am very mistrusting about this process at this point. I wonder how many applicants there are this semester. I wonder how much the HESI counts in comparison to our gpa. I think I am going to call next week when the dust has settled a bit and just make sure they have my correct score. My gpa is only borderline, so I am really counting on my HESI score to make me competitive. Ugh. I am tired of waiting. I hope we find out sooner rather than later.

i emailed and advisor at TWU and they must have forwarded it to the person who originally sent it out because i got an email from her saying if i emailed her my score she could say yes or no if it was correct, but supposedly they can't tell you your score. so i did, and she said yes mine was correct. i felt the same way about this whole situation but i feel much better now
OK, so I called. They had the wrong score, but they are fixing it. She mentioned they have had problems with Elsevier from the beginning. Btw, I printed out my scores from the Elsevier webpage just to make sure I have them incase all the scores get deleted somehow-just taking precautions.
Ali523, I don't know what is competitive and what is not. But, I don't mind sharing my score since we have already applied and just waiting on an answer...I got an 89 composite with 800 on critical thinking. My GPA is "lower" in my opinion, a 3.811 but I'm hoping that the HESI helps it. Normally, I would be embarrassed to share, but I have done my best, and that's all I can do. I am very curious about what formula they are using...before it was (GPA*0.8)+(NET*0.2), so if anyone knows or finds out what the new one is, please share!! Someone mentioned that the HESI might count more than the NET used to, but I really don't know.
I called about a month ago and they told me my hesi score was 2 point higher than i had orginally scored. When i called yesterday they had the right score which was 2 points lower...-=(
I applied for the weekend program. they said that i should be notified the first week of november. So for spring admissions it will follow that.
Also i wonder why they made such a big deal about critical thinking...when it isn't even considered in the composite score!
So...to figure your composite score you just average everything except for the critical thinking?? Or is the formula more complex? Also, does the personality profile fit into anything at all?

I think the critical thinking is considered so important because it is something we will use all of the time as nurses. Also, maybe a high score is a high predictor of nursing school/NCLEX success? Maybe they use the critical thinking score to break ties in between applicants.
