Is anyone out there applying to TWU for the Spring of 2010? Just thought that I would start a group for all of us hopefuls so we could share information and have a way to communicate with each other.
Have you taken your HESI A2 yet? Have you taken all of your pre-reqs? If not, what do you have left to take?
I have taken all of my pre-reqs, and I just took my HESI yesterday. I didn't think it was bad at all, but I prepared for it for about 3 weeks.
If you haven't noticed, TWU has made some slight changes that I think some people will not be happy with. They are taking into consideration the first grade made at pre-req attempts for several of the classes like A&P, micro, and another class. What do you think of this? I wonder how it will change the applicants chances of getting in?
Good luck and I look forward to meeting you!
I have been the same way!! I made my first B in pharm. At first, I freaked out, but I realized that no one is perfect!! Don't worry; it's not the end of the world I promise! You will still live and get into nursing school. Congrats on the waiting list; I am glad they told what number you are. I am sure you will get in.
yea, i got it too. i called the college of nursing and they said that they had just received the new scores. My score was incorrect, but was updated today. she said that hopefully letters will go out by end of october. we should know by first week of november. good luck, everyone!
how did you know your score was incorrect? did you find out through an email?
yah that is just crazy...what does this mean: "Even if you did not the first time, please be looking for an email in the upcoming week. However, no news is good news." It says to be looking for an email in the upcoming week, but no news is good news...so does that mean they might be disqualifying people this coming week???
I can't believe HESI messed up again...they messed up on my test by not giving me the critical thinking section and now this! I wonder how they realized that the HESI scores were messed up; I mean, some of us could have been rejected not because of something we did, but because someone else messed up. I think TWU should start making their own pre-nursing test; it's not that hard to do. Now I'm freaked out a little.

i'm pretty sure it means they may have questions now, so be checking your email, but if they don't have questions then they won't email you, hence the "no news is good news"
hey supersweet,
here's the low-down. the CON said i that had lower scores than what i had actually scored, but not by much though. they said ALL the scores from each section were incorrect...therefore giving us all a lower composite score. they informed me that some students had lower scores than what they received making them ineligible for the program. there were even issues with elsevier showing that applicants didn't even take the tests, when in fact, they did take the HESI.
but don't fret, i called a second time to ask about the critical thinking section, and the CON said that all the scores have come in and are updated with the correct info. i was able to verify my actual score with the new updated scores that they had just received this afternoon (about 4:45p). they informed me that this would not slow down the decision making process since they were already ahead of schedule. they did say that they hoped to send out letters by end of october.
sorry for the lengthy response. hope this calms everyone! good luck!

hey ali,
i called ***** as soon as i got that email to make sure i was reading the email correctly. she looked up my score immediately and it was not what i scored. i informed her of the actual score i received and she said that it was not only the composite score that was incorrect, it was all the scores from all the sections.
hope this helps!

do you know if it was scores from a certain month? i think they get all of the scores for a certain month at the same time, so i was just wondering if all or just some scores were messed up?

Yeah, I'm taking Patho in Denton along with three Psych courses (for my minor). I'm just having the hardest time staying motivated! For the last two years straight I've had the "if I don't make an A I'll die" thing going on...and I'm just so tired!!!! :-(
I applied to Collin County Community College's nursing program as a back-up and I am #4 on the waitlist! So I'm just feeling like if I don't get in TWU then I'm not getting in anywhere! It's just really stressful...but you guys know how it feels!
