Is anyone out there applying to TWU for the Spring of 2010? Just thought that I would start a group for all of us hopefuls so we could share information and have a way to communicate with each other.
Have you taken your HESI A2 yet? Have you taken all of your pre-reqs? If not, what do you have left to take?
I have taken all of my pre-reqs, and I just took my HESI yesterday. I didn't think it was bad at all, but I prepared for it for about 3 weeks.
If you haven't noticed, TWU has made some slight changes that I think some people will not be happy with. They are taking into consideration the first grade made at pre-req attempts for several of the classes like A&P, micro, and another class. What do you think of this? I wonder how it will change the applicants chances of getting in?
Good luck and I look forward to meeting you!
I think the website used to say mid-November, but I just checked and could not find that anywhere. I also just looked at the Spring 2009 thread. Supposedly:
1. letters were mailed out on nov 3.
2. someone on there got an acceptance letter (thin envelope) in the mail on nov 4 to the Dallas campus. She had a 3.609 so with the .4 bump it was 4.0; NET was 64% for the reading comprehension.
3. Another acceptance letter on nov 4; GPA=3.9 and NET=81 for Dallas
4. someone else got a waitlisted email on nov 4. GPA=3.5 and NET=79 for Dallas and Houston
5. another person got a rejection letter on nov 5. GPA=3.7 and NET=67 for Dallas
6. acceptance letter on nov 5. GPA-3.93 and NET=70 for Dallas
I know there is more info about houston, but I havent read that far yet.
OK, I just FREAKED out!!!! I went to the mailbox and there was letter in there addressed to "my name" and Family from TWU. I almost had a heart attack. Yes, seriously for a split second I was like "THEY ALREADY DECIDED????" Then I had a reality check and realized that the deadline was just yesterday (even though I've had my app in for weeks) and they couldn't have made a decision already.
So I opened it up and found out it's an invitation to the National Society of Leadership and Success for making good grades. Wow, jokes on me. Shows how keyed up I am about getting that letter in the mail. BTW, how many times a day do you check you TWU email account to see if there's anything there? Don't ask, right? :)
Goopsy and Elizabelle - OK, so where were you two sitting in class today? I was sitting on the right side 3 rows back on the aisle. You can pretty much pick me out 'cause I'm the one with the cream colored fleece jacket (either on my person or my chair) because I get soooo cold in those classrooms.I really enjoyed the class today, although my goodness she sure can talk fast. I think it's going to be an interesting class. Glad to find out that she curves and that she gives reviews for each test.
She did go very quickly! I was sitting on the left side, facing the front. I was about 5 rows back. I have pretty short reddish hair. I have a gray hoodie that I bring with me because I get cold too! I also bring my laptop, a white Macbook. Please come say hi next class! I was looking around trying to figure out who you guys could be, but couldn't figure out a good way to tell other than saying loudly "Goopsy? Butterfly Journey??? Where are you guys??!" and that just would have been silly. :)
On another note - I also got the feeling that letters would go out earlier than normal when I went in for my last advising appt. That would be super awesome. Hopefully it's good news, because my birthday is 11/06, and it would be great to celebrate getting in along with my birthday!!!
Have a great long weekend, everyone!
