TWU Spring 2016 Houston

Published

Hello everyone! I tried to search for a thread for TWU Houston Spring 2016 applicants but I couldn't find it so I decided to make one. I have read multiple threads from the past TWU applicants and I cant seem to figure out where I stand because some got accepted with low GPA but high TEAS score while others high GPA but low TEAS score. A little bit confused on how TWU determine their candidates.

Is anyone else applying to TWU this Spring? If so what's your stats?

My stats:

GPA: 4.0

TEAS: 76 :(

No previous degree

4 TWU preference ( not sure if this gonna help or not anymore)

And good luck to everyone who is applying!

@bryanv - you passed it and with way more points than the minimum score required which is 65%! Don't feel bad, many people have a hard time with this test including myself. Your GPA is amazing, and you have that to back you up. My GPA is not so great, reason why I have decided to re-take 2 classes in case I don't get in anywhere, which based on previous semesters stats, it seems like I won't! 😕 we have all come such a long way, and are so close to taking that next big step, don't be discouraged. We just have to dust ourselves off and try again if we have to!

Here are my detailed scores:

TEAS V test overall score: 84%

Reading: 88.1%

Mathematics: 90%

Science: 70.8%

English and Language Usage: 90%

My GPA is 3.3 😣

Hopefully these stats will help current or future applicants as @bryanv said

@valxoxo7 Thank you for the uplifting words. This journey to nursing school is stressful. I know that with our hard work we will get accepted to a top nursing school.

I found this post that one of the TWU staff posted on here for Fall of 2015.

If you are not at the average it doesn't mean you won't get in. You can be the one to bring the average up or down.

So I took my teas through psi testing center since there were no other spots available and apparently they don't give u the scores immediately... they said it would take up to 48 hours for me to get the scores. I m getting so impatient to know my grade! 😞

Thanks Bryan for sharing this with us!

You know, I became really discouraged for a while after I submitted my applications because I felt as if my stats were on the lower end of the scale. I couldn't help but compare my scores and GPA to everyone else's and just end up feeling badly about it. But- it took such hard work, determination, sleepless nights, nights in instead of out, to be at this point. And so I decided not to let this get to me. I know I will get in somewhere, as so will you guys, it's just a matter of when and where and how badly you want it. Even if we don't make it the first time, there is always another chance. I've heard of so many people who got in their second or ever third time around! It's possible guys. And we will do this. We're halfway there already.

Good luck everyone and I hope the best for all of us!

@valxoxo7 Now we have to make sure TWU gets our scores before the deadline. I am going to send them and email to see if I have everything I need in. They usually respond fast unlike UTHSC.

I called and spoke to someone in the Nursing dept over in Denton today! (After being transferred a few times) The lady I spoke with was really nice and said she didn't have my scores yet but to call her tomorrow because they were about to get everyone's scores from yesterday!

Let me know what you find out!

@valxoxo7 I emailed [email protected] and they did get my scores. The name of the person that emailed me back is Cheryl Maddux.

Hello,

Is there someone out there that knows how TWU goes about accepting the TEAS scores? I took my TEAS back in May taking up the last spot available and had less than a week to study so I failed. I retook the test thinking they would accept the most recent attempt but was not aware they only take the first score. Could I use the second score for the next application period or would I have to take the test all over again? I so wish they could make an exception!

Best,

Taty

I'm pretty sure you can use the second score for your next application but I would call or me mail to make sure! They are very nice and helpful.
