TWU Spring 2016 Houston

Published

Hello everyone! I tried to search for a thread for TWU Houston Spring 2016 applicants but I couldn't find it so I decided to make one. I have read multiple threads from the past TWU applicants and I cant seem to figure out where I stand because some got accepted with low GPA but high TEAS score while others high GPA but low TEAS score. A little bit confused on how TWU determine their candidates.

Is anyone else applying to TWU this Spring? If so what's your stats?

My stats:

GPA: 4.0

TEAS: 76 :(

No previous degree

4 TWU preference ( not sure if this gonna help or not anymore)

And good luck to everyone who is applying!

Thanks @bryanv!

Hi @Boozii3, I hope we both get in, I know that the counselors told me that 80+ TEAS score and a 3.6 - 3.7 gpa is competitive. But I do know that one of my friends that applied to dallas got in and she also had a 3.5 and a 77 on the TEAS, so hopefully we have a shot!

I'm applying also to UTMB galveston for summer 2016, and i might apply to A&M prarie view nursing school, and UTHSC but idk if I can get my stuff together enough for UTHSC since they are saying they did not receive my HESI score even though i took it for them :/

Its okay valxoxo7, if you get a high TEAS you have a better chance to be competitive. LOL you have to take it soon since the deadline is coming up soon.

@spookyboxes, I hope I get a great TEAS since my gpa is LOW compared to y'all's .... And I'm scheduled to take it in late August right before the deadline, along with a couple peeps from this thread!😅

Does anyone know which campus is less competitive? Dallas, Houston or Denton?

Denton is the main campus, and you can only apply to Dallas or Houston. Dallas is more competitive because denton is closer to dallas, and a lot of people from the dallas area lives there. So Houston is less competitive and you can only apply to one.

Good Luck on the TEAS! I really don't like the TEAS because they ask their questions in a weird way and I feel like their questions are really random, but study really hard and take a lot of practice tests and you'll do fine!

how is everyone's studying going for the TEAS that's taking it next week? :nailbiting:

Specializes in Transplant & LVAD.

@valxoxo7 I'm studying off the ATI book. Then taking quizzes from the McGraw Hill TEAS app and other apps and online quizzes. I have the Barron's book, which has 5 practice tests, but I'm not going to do them until I feel like I have a good grasp on science and math. And by mid this week I'll do the ATI book quizzes. WAY?

@valxoxo7 oh and it's going good

@bryanv I got a late start, but I am also studying off of the ATI book, I am done with the reading section, on the math section now... I'm worried about the science section so might skip over to that since I am pretty good at math...

I didnt know there was a TEAS app, I'm going to look into that!

I'm so nervous the deadline is fast approaching and our test day even faster!!! ahhhh!!
