TWU Spring 2016 Houston

Published

Hello everyone! I tried to search for a thread for TWU Houston Spring 2016 applicants but I couldn't find it so I decided to make one. I have read multiple threads from the past TWU applicants and I cant seem to figure out where I stand because some got accepted with low GPA but high TEAS score while others high GPA but low TEAS score. A little bit confused on how TWU determine their candidates.

Is anyone else applying to TWU this Spring? If so what's your stats?

My stats:

GPA: 4.0

TEAS: 76 :(

No previous degree

4 TWU preference ( not sure if this gonna help or not anymore)

And good luck to everyone who is applying!

I actually might.

Yes! I guess we made it through the first eliminations!☺️

This waiting game is brutal.

Anyone else tired of this wait? I can't take it.

Ok, so this is probably not the best time or place to be discussing this, but hear me out! Is anyone else having second thoughts about going to nursing school? Maybe this will help make the wait less excruciating :/

I work in a hospital in the Med Center and majority of the nurses seem miserable/burned out. I've spoken to a few of them and I have always been advised to rethink my career choice. Any thought? Thanks.

I definitely haven't had second thoughts about my decision to apply for nursing school or this career. Most of the people I know that are nurses love it, and actually have been quite supportive and encouraging through the process. As with any job, you'll have those moments when you get tired or feel burned out - it happens. You never actually know what you can handle until you are actually in the situation yourself. If nursing is something you feel passionate about, then I suggest you continue. Like the saying goes, 'if you do what you love, you'll never work a day in your life.'

I feel the same way. Ever since I can remember, I have wanted to become a nurse. This is my dream and passion, and I have never had second thoughts regarding nursing school or nursing as my career. On the contrary, I have had major obstacles and setbacks and have been able to overcome them to end up here, in this position. I feel blessed to be able to apply, and hope and pray I will get in to one of my dream schools to continue to pursue my career! And if not on this round, there is always next round ☺️

I feel the same way about nursing as though it's my calling. I know what a cliche! But sometimes it's not easy keeping your head up and staying focused with people around you giving you a "reality check." And I am not saying that I agree with the negativity but I just want to go into this with realistic expectations.

Hey guys, just found this board today...

Figured I'd post.

I applied to both TWU Houston and UThealth for the spring semester

My GPA is a 3.8 and my TEAS score was a 90.7%

Unfortunately the HESI didn't go as well because of the anatomy only section, so considering how competitive UT health is I'm thinking TWU is where I'll end up.

My question is, I will only have my second hepatitis B shot by the time registration comes around. Does anybody know if that is acceptable?

I think you have to be realistic about any profession that you go into. While it would be ideal to have days that are always 'peachy-keen', not everyday is going to be like that. So I can understand how some of them could be frustrated. I wouldn't let someone else influence your decision if this is something that you feel is your calling.
