TWU Spring 2016 Houston

Published

Hello everyone! I tried to search for a thread for TWU Houston Spring 2016 applicants but I couldn't find it so I decided to make one. I have read multiple threads from the past TWU applicants and I cant seem to figure out where I stand because some got accepted with low GPA but high TEAS score while others high GPA but low TEAS score. A little bit confused on how TWU determine their candidates.

Is anyone else applying to TWU this Spring? If so what's your stats?

My stats:

GPA: 4.0

TEAS: 76 :(

No previous degree

4 TWU preference ( not sure if this gonna help or not anymore)

And good luck to everyone who is applying!

I applied to UT health science center here in Houston and PVAMU as well. I am really hoping for UT or TWU, they are my top choices- but also the most competitive :wideyed:

I am concerned because although I have pretty decent HESI/TEAS scores, my GPA is on the lower end of the scale. So if I don't get in this time around, I am already retaking 2 classes to boost up my GPA, and I will reapply next round. I'm crossing my fingers, though, and hoping and praying that won't be the case and I'll make it in!!!

Do you live in SA now? I was wondering why the UT there instead of here in Houston?

Good luck with UT-Health in Houston. I applied there last year and didn't get in. It's super competitive and honestly, there's no rhyme or rhythm to who they accept; 've never understood it. I hear PVAMU has an awesome program as well. I wanted to apply there, but I wasn't down to retake another class (my Chem is 6 years old -__-)

I'm sure you'll do fine. Your TEAS and HESI are awesome, and it's always smart to retake a class if they allow it.

I currently live in Austin. I stayed here after graduating from UT a few years back. SA is just close so i was considering it as an option for that reason. My brother stays in Houston, so it's convenient. I can live with him rent free and go to school lol

I applied to Texas Tech - Austin and was accepted a few weeks ago. I've applied to this program and Texas A&M (College Station & Round Rock) as well. My stats aren't super impressive, my G.P.A. using the TWU calculator is a 3.471, TEAS is an 85.3% (HESI is a 92%), and I have a previous Bachelor's degree.

That's pretty awesome you guys! Those are all awesome schools!

I ADORE Austin and wish I could apply at a school there!

@bri, TWU takes into high consideration people who have a previous BS - I think you have a really good chance☺️

@sarah, my stats are SUPER similar to yours but my GPA is a little lower :/ 3.3 - let's hope for the best :fingers crossed: oh, and you have a previous BS which is Wayyyy to your advantage so I think you have a really good chance too!

Is anyone going to their open house in late September?

Oh and congrats on your acceptance to TT, Sarah!!!!!

I've been also roaming this forum looking. Just to put my stats out there, I have a 3.5 GPA and made a 84% on the TEAS V.

I hope I get accepted into TWU, the waiting is killing me.

Welcome to the thread! The wait is killing me also, and all of you guys higher GPA is making me soooo nervous 😓

I hope I'll still have a chance. Does anyone know how many applicants there were for this round?

Does anyone know what the approximate cost of TWU's nursing program is?

There is a cost estimator on their website.

TWU Tuition & Fees Estimator - Texas Woman's University

Does anyone know about upcoming scholarship for their nursing program? I don't know if I start applying right now or wait until I get accepted (hopefully).

Does anyone know if they mail out course evaluations? I think I only need philosophy, but I have other classes that might be considered for it.

I think they typically like for you to wait until you're accepted to apply for the scholarships, but I could be wrong

I'm not sure, I was wondering the same thing!

Is anyone planning on going to the open house at the end of the month?
