Hello everyone! I tried to search for a thread for TWU Houston Spring 2016 applicants but I couldn't find it so I decided to make one. I have read multiple threads from the past TWU applicants and I cant seem to figure out where I stand because some got accepted with low GPA but high TEAS score while others high GPA but low TEAS score. A little bit confused on how TWU determine their candidates.
Is anyone else applying to TWU this Spring? If so what's your stats?
My stats:
GPA: 4.0
TEAS: 76
No previous degree
4 TWU preference ( not sure if this gonna help or not anymore)
And good luck to everyone who is applying!
I applied to Texas Tech - Austin and was accepted a few weeks ago. I've applied to this program and Texas A&M (College Station & Round Rock) as well. My stats aren't super impressive, my G.P.A. using the TWU calculator is a 3.471, TEAS is an 85.3% (HESI is a 92%), and I have a previous Bachelor's degree.
That's pretty awesome you guys! Those are all awesome schools!
I ADORE Austin and wish I could apply at a school there!
@bri, TWU takes into high consideration people who have a previous BS - I think you have a really good chance☺ï¸
@sarah, my stats are SUPER similar to yours but my GPA is a little lower :/ 3.3 - let's hope for the best :fingers crossed: oh, and you have a previous BS which is Wayyyy to your advantage so I think you have a really good chance too!
Is anyone going to their open house in late September?
There is a cost estimator on their website.

Does anyone know about upcoming scholarship for their nursing program? I don't know if I start applying right now or wait until I get accepted (hopefully).

Good luck with UT-Health in Houston. I applied there last year and didn't get in. It's super competitive and honestly, there's no rhyme or rhythm to who they accept; 've never understood it. I hear PVAMU has an awesome program as well. I wanted to apply there, but I wasn't down to retake another class (my Chem is 6 years old -__-)
I'm sure you'll do fine. Your TEAS and HESI are awesome, and it's always smart to retake a class if they allow it.
I currently live in Austin. I stayed here after graduating from UT a few years back. SA is just close so i was considering it as an option for that reason. My brother stays in Houston, so it's convenient. I can live with him rent free and go to school lol
