Hey! I'm applying to TWU for Spring of 2020. It's super early, but apps are due this Summer. Anyone else applying? I'm super nervous and I'd love to hear what everyone is doing to prepare for the TEAS! Also if anyone knows how many points are considered competitive let me know!
Hi guys!
I applied for Dallas and was denied. I tried getting in contact with almost everyone but I guess their inbox is flooded & busy.. The earliest I can talk to someone is December 13th...
Does anyone know if Dallas is sending out acceptances again and what the lowest admitted score was? if anyone had the chance to talk to someone lemme know who I can talk to without having to making a such far appointments...

Someone mentioned on the previous page the lowest Dallas score was 54. They will send out more acceptances as people deny their acceptance!

Depends on the schools your comparing to. They will all teach the same things, and in the end we all take the same NCLEX to become RN, BSN. Some programs are shorter than TWU, but do you want to have the ability to work some while in school? The opportunity to travel abroad for your nursing elective? Have summers off? There are a lot of things to consider. For me personally, TWU made the most sense because I don't want to be rushed through nursing school and come out feeling unprepared. I want to be able to work part time and I really loved that TWU has the option to travel abroad. But these are the things that are important to me, so you should ask yourself what's most important to you!! I wish you the best of luck in whatever you decide ?

I was accepted to the Accelerated Online BSN program at UTA for the spring and also received acceptance to TWU. Unless something huge comes up to change my mind, I will more than likely turn down my TWU spot. The flexibility to not have to be on campus all the time weighed the most on my decision (I have 4 kids). My UTA clinicals will mostly be on weekends as well, so it would be feasible for me to work part time during the week if I want. TWU is a great program though!

Thanks for the insight, I didn’t know they had travel abroad and that’s something I would definitely be interested in. I’m choosing between UTMB and TWU. TWU is definitely closer to home and work (I literally work In the medical center at MD Anderson) and the time off and ability to work is promising. I just fear the class size is going to be huge, I’ve heard rumors of about 160 and the research origin of the program. I also like that UTMB integrates technology (they use the iPads) and it’s just a few months quicker.

I can definitely see that. Online will be much easier for you to go to school and still maintain your family!

A few people have confirmed that TWU class size is actually 120! And they do require you to have a laptop so it seems they are pretty up to date with technology too! I live in the med center less than a mile from TWU so that influenced my decision as well! If I were you, based on your proximity to the med center and working there, I would choose TWU. If it means alot to you to graduate 6 months sooner (i'm assuming you were accepted for UTMB spring) then I would weigh that against your need to drive to Galvestion, cost of getting there etc! I'm sure you will do great no matter where you go ?
I was awarded the $1000 scholarship, and my major had been changed to health science. I have 52 points now. I would like to re-take anatomy in the spring and apply for the Houston campus. Will I be able to get back into the College of Nursing though? I'm trying to make a good decision.
