TWU Spring 2020 Hopefuls?

Hey! I'm applying to TWU for Spring of 2020. It's super early, but apps are due this Summer. Anyone else applying? I'm super nervous and I'd love to hear what everyone is doing to prepare for the TEAS! Also if anyone knows how many points are considered competitive let me know!

My score was lower than yours (44.00) and I got into Houston. I have a 4.00 Science/Nursing GPA, 3.85 PreReq GPA and, I bombed the TEAS with an 82 after two attempts. Pretty sure it's some kind of random lottery.

I applied to UT Health and didn't get an acceptance email even though my stats were way better than some of those accepted.

Also, let us know what TWU says when you call them tomorrow please!

I was told TWU was a numbers only system. So they cut it off at a certain number and if you're above that number then you're in and below you're not in.

This is true, its based off the highest admissions score. Maybe Brandon's score is actually higher.. I would just call tomorrow to see if they can confirm your admissions score for you! I think the next lowest score I saw was a 47 so you are really close to the cut off and I know they will send out acceptances once those who aren't going send in their denials. Rooting for you!

I called and spoke with someone in Denton. While she could not give me the exact numbers she said that I was very close to the cut off and there was a good probability that if some people do not accept a position that I would be given a seat. So, the wait continues.

Got in to the Dallas program with the below stats and an overall score of 57.8. Congratulations and good luck to the group - I look forward to meeting many of you!

  • Nursing GPA: 3.75
  • Pre-req GPA: 3.70
  • TEAS overall: 91%
  • Yes - Previous bachelors
  • No - TWU Preference

That's good news! I do know of two people giving up their spots so fingers crossed!!

I got into dallas campus with the following stats:

PreNursing GPA: 4.0

Overall GPA: 4.0

Previous Bachelors degree

TEAS: 85%

You can calculate the admissions score they use to accept you using the excel doc on this page https://twu.edu/nursing/undergraduate-programs/bachelor-of-science-bs-with-a-major-in-nursing/

It is towards the bottom under Houston Center, the prerequisite advising worksheet

I found out that they'll send the second wave of acceptance out on Nov 8th to fill spots not taken.

Are we still supposed to send final transcripts if we're taking extra classes this semester? I'm taking Microeconomics and Public Speaking because PVAMU required it. But since TWU doesn't require it, do I still need to submit a final transcript?

From what I understood you only needed to send it if you're missing their prereqs! You could probably ask for certain at orientation.
