TWU Spring 2020 Hopefuls?

Updated:   Published

Hey! I'm applying to TWU for Spring of 2020. It's super early, but apps are due this Summer. Anyone else applying? I'm super nervous and I'd love to hear what everyone is doing to prepare for the TEAS! Also if anyone knows how many points are considered competitive let me know!

I am trying to decide between UTA on-line or TWU program. I graduated from TWU so I prefer them.

Where did you all take your prerequisites if you don't mind me asking? I am looking at possibly TCC or just doing them through UTA.

I was denied admission, although I received an email stating that I met the requirements for admission. I was offered a $1000 scholarship to change my major. I have my heart set on becoming a nurse from TWU. Does anyone know anything about a waiting list? Any wisdom/ advice is greatly appreciated!

What was your admissions score? It appears the lowest accepted for Houston was a 47. If you're right around there it was mentioned earlier that they would send acceptances to the waitlist after November 8th once they get a count of those denying admission. Good luck!!

Did you apply to Dallas? I'm not sure what there cut off was but I know it is usually higher than Houston.

Do you know why that is? Is it a better program or do they just have more ppl applying?

Program is the exact same! I believe there are less schools with a BSN track available in the Dallas metro area compared to how many we have here in Houston. I can think of 6 off the top of my head in Houston whereas I only know of TWU in Dallas.

Ohh I see. That makes sense :))

Yea that's just based off my observations, but makes the most sense to be too! There is UTArlington and Baylor but since Baylor is private alot of people don't apply there!

Most people applying to Dallas have TWU preference after taking their pre-requisites or getting their first two years done at the Denton campus. So naturally, this boosts their admission scores, making the applicant pool more competitive for the Dallas campus. But like @BlondeBSNHopeful said, it’s the same program structure, same degree, not one is better than the other.
