Everyone is welcome!

Hey Supersweet - Did you get Baylor Grapevine as your clinical site? I did. What classes are you taking since you are part-time?

I am taking Pharmacology- with Tapler and Nursing Assessment-with Walls( Baylor Rehab is what my white advisement sheet says). I am going to school Monday and Tuesdays. I will take Concepts & Clinicals Comp. in the fall, with 1 other course and I hope to take a course this summer online. At some point I want to go full time, as my youngest (4yr) will start elementary next year.

Awesome! Then we have both classes together. Since MLK is the first Monday, do you know if we have assessment on Thursday of that week? Or does it just start the following week?

Good morning! My advisor/teacher said we have class on Thursday that week.

I figured that would be the case. Thanks!!

I wanted to cry afterwards. It was a lot of information to process, but I think Iwill manage after the first few weeks there... My clinicals are on saturday at 6:45, so I'm a little bummed about that.

does anyone know what the isbn is for the pharmacology book we need? I cant find it on the sheet that was given to us.

Lindsay, There are 2 books: Pharmacology for Nursing Care-7th Edition and Pharmacology Sucess:A course review applying critical thinking to test taking. ISBN are not on my p. work either, but I did find them when typing the titles in on a search. They both should be at Majors I bought the second one on Amazon and borrowing a J2's book for the first. J2 said that we dont even use the big book but 1 x and the Pharm Succes book is VERY helpful. Hope this helps:wink2:

Thanks Supersweet! your info was very helpful. the reason I asked is because I spoke to a Sr 2 and she told me the same you were told, you only use it like once or twice. The book is a bit expensive so I am really hesitant to purchase it, I am however going to purchase the pharmacology success book. I did not purch her pharm book because it did not look like the one from amazon, and I guess that would make sense since she took the course over a yr ago. Decisions, decisions.

Elizabelle,

Those of you taking Patho now-where do you park? Does anyone use the shuttle?

So now hunker down and study for finals girls!! We can then finish our shopping list for our nursing gear!!

I never used the shuttle. I always tried to get there at least 30 minutes early so I could park right out front. To me that was just much less stressful after my experience the first couple of weeks driving around aimlessly looking for a spot. I would do the Southwestern parking garage 5th floor before the shuttle.

Anybody purchased books from a source besides Majors? I have spent some time looking around on Amazon. Most of the books listed are available, at seemingly much cheaper prices. I am just worried that there are extra things included in the Majors pkg that I will wish we had if I don't buy it from them. However, I hate to spend hundreds of dollars more if it's not necessary. Thoughts?

Hey - Does anyone remember who the person was who handling the scheduling? I really want to try to move my assessment from Mon/Thurs to Thurs, and I can't remember who I need to ask. Thanks!
