Moving this thread from the TWU 2010 spring hopefuls for those of us who were accepted. This one is specifically for people planning to attend the regular program in Dallas starting in January 2010. The purpose of this thread is to lend mutual support and encouragement to each other as we embark on this journey together. Please feel free to ask questions, and share your concerns. Everyone is welcome!
i'm renting 3 of my books from chegg.com. since some of the J1's in our patho class said that they didn't use their pharm book that much, i figured renting it for $50 was better. the rest of the books i will be buying from amazon or half.com. i found that the books with "online" access you can buy straight from the publisher's website. its not too bad. the lippincott one (taylor's clinical nursing skills online) was $59.95 and the other one was $49.95 from the elsevier site.
CPR classes are next week! The person in charge has sent out her letter and schedule. I understand in order to get the emails you need to be linked to the Dallas Center to get info. This can be requested from IT Help desk.
Hope everyone's Holiday was great and relaxing! I did go down to Majors over the break and they could not provide a list of the books in the package to me. I dont think I can give out her personal info-due to the rules of Allnurses? If you need just PM me.
Never mind. I had emails in my twu mail about cpr. I was expecting mail in my gmail account, since that is the one that I listed on the sign-up sheet. Is anyone else annoyed that apparently all of the other nursing students have access to our email addresses and apparently can email us about anything they want to sell?
All - Assessment info is up on blackboard. There still isn't a calendar or schedule with it though. Frustrating. I'd like to know which weeks I have to be there on Monday vs. Thursday. All lectures are online though. I thought someone said we only ever had lecture or lab each week, but it looks like lecture is done on our own time, and we have lab every week. Since I have a Mon/Thurs schedule I have no clue what days I am supposed to be there for lab. She did say in the course announcements that she would explain further at the study skills thing.

Man I am full of questions today!! OK - how do we know who our advisor is? Is it supposed to be the person who took us when we split off into little groups? I certainly hope not. She didn't seem to know what she was doing and did not introduce herself or make it seem as though she would be available to us in the future. Anybody know?
