Decisions, decisions..What is a girl to do? It is hard to find comfortable good fitting shoes for me too! However, I bought both pairs at JC Penney outlet. One pair is a Converse white leather sneaker; extra comfy and the other is a nursing shoe by Rockers. There was a big sale that day and all the nurses were there grabbing them up! I had to try several pairs on before finding the style that was comfortable.
Just keep in mind its about comfort not style Good luck!
Hey guys, long time no post. :) I was up in the mountains in Ruidoso, NM. So beautiful, and so much SNOW.
Now that I am back home, I am beginning to fret over my unbought scrubs, lab coat, cpr class I have yet to hear back from, and not to mention the unread 8 chapters for pharm. I began one of the two chapters from fundamentals of nursing.
The upside is I have my white shoes, Dr Sholles (however u spell it), and they are amazingly comfortable. Question for those who have bought scrubs, where could I find some decently priced but comfortable scrubs in the dallas area? I dont like the ones from wal mart, not very comfortable, so i am returning those I got as a xmas present. I think another two weeks of vacation will be more convinient. Hee hee, am I not selfish or what!?
Lindsay1208, I purchased my scrubs from a Scrubs and Beyond store at the mall, but the brand I bought (Laundau) is offered at just about any scrubs store (including discount stores in outlet malls if you live near one like in Allen, TX). They were about $18.99 each. I also bought shirts to go underneath. I bought my sports bra and shorts at Academy. I actually am having my patches put on my a tailor because I also had to use them to let some of the hem out of the arms on my lab coat. OK, I have monkey arms alright! :)
Buying scrubs priced over $19 is not necessary, there are some good brands out there at that price and a lab coat can be bought at Major's bookstore with the discount for less than $25. (I think it's $20 after discount).
The softest scrubs I have found are Grey's Anatomy brand. Unfortunately they don't make burgundy pants. But I bought their tops and lab coat, and am very pleased with both the softness and style. I am fretting over not having my shoes yet, and also the fact that I decided to buy my books from everywhere BUT majors, and although I saved a lot now I don't get to take advantage of the ebook pkg that they included, which can not be bought separately. I guess I should have listened better at orientation. :-)
Does anyone else have Concepts up on Blackboard yet? I don't. I see the student nurse orientation, and already did that But in her email she said there was also a vocab test that we need to complete the day before class. However I don't see that up, nor do I see any course info for Concepts. What do you guys have up? I only have assessment so far.
mc22943, I think that is what it means. I am going to wear mine on thursday. I spoke to a Sr and she said that her first week of class she did not wear her uniform (she didnt get into trouble or anything), but the professor made an example of those who did wear them... I still have yet to sow or glue my patches yet.
Check this out you guys, you know how the name tag is 9 dollars, well i ordered 2 and it had my first name mispelled. They tried to play it off as no big deal, but I was like well since I did pay almost 20 for two tags and on top of that will wear them for the next two yrs, I want my name correctly spelled. I hope I was not too pushy. :)

What kind of shoes did you guys end up buying? I ordered several pairs off of Zappos, planning to return the ones I didn't like. However, I didn't like any of them, and returned them all. So I still need shoes. Any suggestions?
