Aaaaalriiighty! With the large volume of nursing students who applied for TWU this Fall semester and the very few amount of drop outs, it's time to start up the Spring 2017 applicants forum topic!! I'm one of the waitlisters who didn't make it into the Fall 2016 Dallas nursing program, but definitely had competitive scores.
For reference I had a GPA of 3.86 (3.68 nursing core) and a TEAS score of an 87 (top 3%). That left me with a total of 47.7 points (43.83 for Spring 2017, but I'll explain).
Now keep in mind that this semester TWU will no longer be looking at cumulative GPAs, but only the nursing core GPA. Other than that, the change in the Program Materials on the Nursing CAS application, and that you don't need to send a transcript to NursingCAS, there have been no major changes to note for the Spring 2017 semester.
Also, to those who either scored less than me or have a lower GPA don't let that discourage you. Last application cycle was a weird one with close to triple the amount of Honor's students (HS=guaranteed acceptance) and an unusually low declination return. Last Spring, the lowest accepted student had about 43.1 points. Which equates to about a 3.6 GPA and an 82-85 TEAS. If you can hit that ballpark you're in a good spot. Also, since there was such a high percentage of HS for Fall 2016 it's likely that there will be a much lower HS Spring turnout.
Stats for the Fall 2016 accepted students
Dallas lowest accepted: 51.1pts (40 HS)
Houston lowest accepted: 35pts
Now be advised that there is a full 20 points given to any TWU student with 32+ credit hours. That means if you're a TWU student with 32+ you've got great chances. Now for you transfer students (such as myself), I advise studying your tail end off for that TEAS in order to be competitive. It's not impossible, but it is improbable if you don't produce excellent returns.

I spent hours researching and talking with advisors, so I've gotta lot of slick info in my book. Also, I'll probably post the actual calculator excel spreadsheet they use for calculating points later, so you can play around with it.
I need help finishing my CAS Application. It will not allow me to download the pdf to complete the biographic information section... Also it is still showing that my transcripts have no been received but TWU has them already. HELP !!!!!
Hey Myranda... Nursing CAS does not need your transcripts. I submitted my CAS without them and my advisor said that's ok. Not sure about the bio pdf. Hope that helps
I finally submitted my application. I requested my scores to be sent from ATI to TWU and I received an email saying they have been sent. Did anyone call to make they were received? If so, which phone number did you use? I just want to verify that they have been received.

I'm really worried after seeing all the grades from last semester and how people with high GPAs and even higher TEAS scores didn't get accepted into the Dallas program. Has anyone talked to anyone in the Nursing department to see if this semester will be similar to Fall 2016? This is the only school that I want to apply for because this is the only I want to go to, but I feel that my TEAS is low compared to others. How many students are accepted each year? I'm sure that making the Nursing Core GPA count vs. prereqs will really help alot of us transfers out. Please give me info, I'm pulling out hair

Hubbles: send your transcripts directly to TWU, not nursingCAS. As far as your other question, I would call to verify just to make sure!
