Hey everyone. I just wanted to start a thread for all of those hoping to get into TWU starting Spring 2014. My name is Kia and I have already sent in my application and completed my TEAS V exam. I'll be in the Denton campus patho class this fall (trying to wait patiently for an acceptance letter-GOD willing).
Hello ladies! Im going to the Dallas Campus and just got that checklist. Just wondering what you guys are doing as far as immunizations? Where to go for the titers, etc. I have all my shots but they are not signed. They are a military document and they never had to be signed, the printout was always just enough. Any ideas? Thanks for any help:)
Hey HOU people. Just something to think about - this year (August 2013) there was some changes for us existing students in regards to immunizations. They didn't want shot records, they wanted titer tests to prove immunity. I can't swear they will want the same for this incoming group, but here is a list of what they required of us:
"Many of our clinical agencies are now requiring immune status verification in addition to our already required immunizations. As a result, students must now provide (in addition to required immunizations)[COLOR=#1F497D] proof of Varicella, MMR, Hepatitis B and Hepatitis C titers[COLOR=#1F497D], and flu immunization (as well as annual TB testing results)."
Hep C isn't a true titer, but proof you haven't been exposed/aren't carrying it. Like I said, I wanted to make everyone aware so you can get started early or ask someone official about it before classes start. Also, if you haven't had your entire Hep B series (especially not started on it) - you WILL be needing it.
I just registered yesterday, I emailed Surscan company and this is the correct link Nursing Students On the packet the link was not right.

Good luck, guys. I think I'm giving up nursing for good. I got accepted into UTA and then had to give up my spot because I didn't have a declaratory order from the board of nursing for my criminal record. This whole process is so depressing.
