Hello!
I know it's pretty early to be starting this forum, but I just wanted to put my voice out there and see if there is anyone else out there hoping to join TWU's nursing program in the spring of 2013? What are you taking this semester (spring 2012), and when are you taking the TEAS-V entrance exam?
After this spring semester of taking microbiology, chemistry, developmental psychology, and statistics, I'll be ready to apply before the September 1st deadline! I'm hoping to take the entrance exam in the summer - probably June or July.
So yeah, I just wanted to see who else was out there!
Hi there - I am currently enrolled in the NP program at TWU Dallas. I was in advanced path and studied my rear end off but have not been able to make above a C on a test so I dropped - the teacher is quite something - I have been approved to take the Houston online course but do not know anything about the instructor - Does anyone know anything about the instructor - M. Dacunha??? The instructor we currently have does not teach - she pretty much stands there and reads her lecture notes - any help would be appreciated.
Hello Spring 2013 hopefuls! I've been following this thread for quite some time and finally worked up some courage to participate. I honestly check this thread ALMOST as much as I've been checking my TWU email (which of course is a million times a day). The encouraging words, kindness, and support really gave me strength throughout this stressful process. It's comforting to know that someone can relate, especially when you have no control over the outcome at this point. Good luck to everyone! I just know Spring 2013 will be a wonderful class!
For those of you who are religious I included my favorite prayer. Hopefully it can bring you the peace of mind it brought me!
God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change; the courage to change the things I can; and the wisdom to know the difference. Living one day at a time; enjoying one moment at a time; accepting hardships as the pathway to peace; taking, as He did, this sinful world as it is, not as I would have it; trusting that He will make all things right if I surrender to His Will; that I may be reasonably happy in this life and supremely happy with Him forever in the next.

That must be extremely frustrating! Here is the Rate My Professor link. Hopefully this will give you the insight you need! Good luck :)
Hey guys, I was still working on my vaccination form from twu to get a bit ahead (in case I get in *hopefully :,(*...) and I got my tdap about a year ago, should I ask for my doctors sign-off on that or has anyone heard of a titer for that?Thank you for your input guys...
If you received it from your doctor's office, then definitely have him sign off on it and maybe give you the immunization record to show exactly when you received it. :) If you have no way to show that you did receive it, then you might have to get another one.
Form: http://www.twu.edu/images/student-health-services/Demographic_Nursing_Dallas_04-15-2011.pdf

This is the form you need to have filled out by your doctor. Provide any lab reports for titer checks. Fax with coversheet to Student Health Services in Denton and they will update your Pioneer Portal. You will have to print out 2 copies of Pioneer Portal records to take to nursing school with you the first week. You will get more information on the Portal process at orientation.
If your doctor doesn't have records, check with your high school. A printout on their letter head of immunization dates will suffice (along with the cover sheet).
If you have any allergies (IE: eggs / flu vaccine) make sure you get doctor documentation for exemption.
