TWU Spring 2013 Applicants!

Published

Hello!:yeah:

I know it's pretty early to be starting this forum, but I just wanted to put my voice out there and see if there is anyone else out there hoping to join TWU's nursing program in the spring of 2013? What are you taking this semester (spring 2012), and when are you taking the TEAS-V entrance exam?

After this spring semester of taking microbiology, chemistry, developmental psychology, and statistics, I'll be ready to apply before the September 1st deadline! I'm hoping to take the entrance exam in the summer - probably June or July.

So yeah, I just wanted to see who else was out there!

God has given us the grace to fulfill all that we need for this admission and he will surely give us the patience till the last. Does anyone know if TWU prefers those who are core complete over those who still have one or more courses left

The remaining days will be creeping especially for those who dont have classes but all in all, we shall get there.

As far as I know there aren't any preferences given to those who are core complete. The only preferences given are for your GPA; your "first attempt" grades for A&P 1 & 2, micro, and stats; your TEAS score; if you have a previous bachelor's degree; and if you've taken 32 hrs at TWU. Otherwise they just want to make sure that you will be able to finish the few classes you have left before the start of nursing school. :D

I just checked my TWU Email and it says I can view my unofficial transcript update. I dont know if anybody has received such email and whether it says TSI status is complete. The status of my TSI is showing not complete and I dont know what this means.

Not sure. Every semester there are in between 600-1000 though, from what my advisor told me. :-/

Yeah, that is what my advisor told me. I want to know a closer range though. :( but I feel like it is too soon to call and ask. Do you know if that is 600-1000 applicants for both the Dallas and Houston campus?

If I remember correctly, they were making that reference only for the Dallas campus. I believe Houston gets less applicants.

YIKES!!! I am hoping for a number closer to 600...I believe though out of the total pool of applications, there are some that are not eligible to apply due to whatever reasons...correct?

Yes, definitely! Because GPA isn't high enough, didn't complete the TEAS in time, forgot to turn in their transcripts, etc. I think we should be able to call and ask how many eligible applicants there are after a couple of weeks...

I was told today about 900 applicants from the last application period (Not the one that just closed) and they pick 200 to go to Dallas and Houston.
