TWU Spring 2013 Applicants!

Published

Hello!:yeah:

I know it's pretty early to be starting this forum, but I just wanted to put my voice out there and see if there is anyone else out there hoping to join TWU's nursing program in the spring of 2013? What are you taking this semester (spring 2012), and when are you taking the TEAS-V entrance exam?

After this spring semester of taking microbiology, chemistry, developmental psychology, and statistics, I'll be ready to apply before the September 1st deadline! I'm hoping to take the entrance exam in the summer - probably June or July.

So yeah, I just wanted to see who else was out there!

I'm so disheartened! I made a 75 on my TEAS V. I know it was due to lack of time in studying. There's nothing else I can do now but wait for November. I think I'm going to get myself a strong glass of wine now.

Can I join you with the wine? But that doesn't mean anything. It's always different each semester. I'm sure you will be fine. Don't get your hopes up.

Please do. :) thank you for the lift in spirits.

There are still spots open for Patho?? Oooh and I took my TEAS today. Eeek.

Good luck on your score! I was nervous because I ran out of time on the math part, but I ended up doing alright. I hope it's enough to get in!

When I registered, there were spots open for the Dallas and Denton Patho classes. Maybe some people are dropping out at the last minute. Also, a friend of mine told me there are a ton of spaces available in the new parking garage if anyone else was wondering. There are also spaces on the street, but they fill up fast.

Please do. :) thank you for the lift in spirits.

You are very welcome. Everyone's time will come. It's important not to give up. This is my third time applying, and I am not giving up. :-) you got this!

Thank you very much. I also ran out on time on the math part, and I am very good at math. My testing center was really noisy, there were people in the lobby/waiting room laughing and chatting the whole time. It was so hard to concentrate. I will have to look into the patho class tomorrow!

Hello everyone! I just applied to the Nursing program and I registered for the Dallas Patho class this morning after reading this forum. I'm so glad I read this before the semester started!

Does anyone know what the parking situation is like? I might just take the DART train since the Parkland station is less than a mile away.

sindee, you need a decal sticker for parking at the dallas ramp. You can apply for one on the Pioneer Portal.

We got this. Plus third times a charm. :)

It seems like everyone got really good scores on the TEAS. Got a 68 on TEAS V after taking it for the 3rd time. I studied so much, about a month for hours each day and it seems I couldn't get the score that I wanted. I studied separate books this time for each subject and review the ATI book again. I'm such a bad test-taker. I'm so concerned that I won't be able to get into the nursing program this spring. The first two times I was not able to apply because my TEAS score was too low to apply, but this time I was able to apply to TWU Dallas with a 68...but I know TWU Dallas is really competitive to get into! I felt like taking TEAS V was difficult because I'm not good at standardized tests no matter how much I studied for some reason. I always do really well in classes but standardized tests is always a problem to me. I also followed the tips that allnurses have on here too for TEAS V. I have 3 attempts out of the 4.... All A's on my transcript except B in Chemistry, C in A&P II, and B in Lifespan. 3.73 GPA before completing pathophysiology at twu and 3.75 after completing patho with an A ..but I know patho does not count towards the nursing application...I am also core complete with an AA...

I'm taking Pathophysiology at the Denton Campus. Anyone else taking it there? Its a Tuesday & Thursday class. Also, this thread has been very useful for me! Thanks!
