I know it's pretty early to be starting this forum, but I just wanted to put my voice out there and see if there is anyone else out there hoping to join TWU's nursing program in the spring of 2013? What are you taking this semester (spring 2012), and when are you taking the TEAS-V entrance exam?
After this spring semester of taking microbiology, chemistry, developmental psychology, and statistics, I'll be ready to apply before the September 1st deadline! I'm hoping to take the entrance exam in the summer - probably June or July.
So yeah, I just wanted to see who else was out there!
Hey guys, I have a question...do you guys know how strict twu is with the whole TEAS V deadline? I've been procrastinating and now the slots are all full up until September 5th. I am freaking out and not sure what to do. >.

I submitted my application last week and am now just waiting trying to not think about it until November! I am applying with a 3.67 GPA, three preferences or bumps whatever they are called and I made an 89 on my TEAS V. I'm hoping that I did well enough to make up for my slightly lower GPA. Best of luck to all of you on controlling your nerves until November!!

I was wondering if we had to send our final transcript to just the Office of Student Records Processing or to the nursing school as well. The address I have down for the Office of Student Records Processing is:

Also, I applied for the nursing school and paid the fee BEFORE taking my TEAS V. Do you think that will pose a problem? I already took the TEAS V and had the transcript sent to TWU.
Also, am I to receive a bacterial meningitis vaccination before they consider my application? If so, I need to get this down ASAP.

Yes, that's the correct address for where to send your transcripts. The nursing school in Dallas gets everything from Denton - so you don't actually send anything to Dallas.
It doesn't matter in which order you complete all the steps of applying - application first or TEAS-V score first - as long as they have everything they need before September 1st. I applied and paid the fee about a month before I took the TEAS, and when I met with the admissions coordinator that posed no problem.
No, you will not need to get a meningitis vaccination before they consider your application, but you will have to get one before beginning classes. They will want proof of those records before classes start. :)

An advisor told me they place more value on the 1st attempt A's than GPA, so you are looking good:yelclap:
Hey everyone! I took my TEAS V today and I'm glad that is out of the way but it's nerve wrecking waiting for the score. I'd wish they would give us our scores right away to save us a headache. I'd have to say that I don't feel as confident as I want to be. So hoping for a good enough grade that's competitive enough to be considered. On another note, classes will be starting before we know it. As for this patho book, I'm scared. Yes I keep glancing over at it...

Hi Jenny2014! Glad to have you join us. =) I am applying at for the Denton campus and just took my TEAS today and crossing my fingers for a good grade. I see that you've taken patho already, was it hard? Although the book looks intimidating, I am ready to start class so time will pass on by to November. Just as everyone. I will re-post my stats once I get the score for my TEAS. Hopefully tomorrow.

I have been lurking for so long on these forums and now I am ready to post. I have applied and been accepted into the school but when I look under the my documents in the pioneer portal, its says "undergrad nursing accept," does anyone elses say that?
