Hey guys! I wanted to start a forum for us twu spring 2012 hopefuls!

About me

I have a 3.2, yikes! :sofahider, and after this summer it should come up to a 3.6 or 7 and I am studying my butt off for the teas and will only have 3 more classes after that to take. I have gotten into the university as the first step, but I am so worried about getting into the nursing program, fingers crossed :uhoh3:

I haven't heard a single thing from them... it kind of worries me, but I guess I should be thinking no news is good news. Now I'm going to be sure to check my inbox multiple times a day just in case they ask for something and need it immediately.... O_o

I got an email two weeks ago saying my advisor at my current university needed to email TWU saying I'd be core complete by the time the nursing program started (or I'd have to take the extra math, computer, and women's study classes). After a few phone calls I was able to email them saying that would be the case and everything was taken care of...it was a little weird bpseeing as how they're just taking my word for it lol bu whatever.

Anyways, I hope we find out next Friday like abranson02 is saying. that's my birthday and it would be an amazing gift!! Lol

I also have had them contact me in an email about two weeks ago, Heather from advising to be exact also needing to know if I was core complete, which I was it just didn't show on my transcript at that time. She had given me til the 17th which was yesterday to take care of it, or else she would not be able to consider me for admission. My school had given me problems and said it would take them two weeks to get me a transcript since I was not taking classes currently, so I emailed Heather back and said that they told me I am but I couldnt get anything official til after the 17th, she took my word for it like CristinaL had her word taken. She said as long as I have something on file, if I get accepted , by the time we sign up for classes it would be fine. So thats why they take your word.

Plus, I don't think its taking them that long considering the deadline was September 1st, and we did have a lot of applicants this semester, and they only have a few people working on this, and they have to compute EVERYTHING for every single student, that's a lot of work. IM SOOOO anxious though :)

We have to wait out these last few days or weeks!! Arghhh. :)

That is good that they are willing to take a person's word. I know how stressful it can be to get stuff from other schools in a timely manner. I think admissions has only about 2 or 3 people that have to go over 800 apps... that is ALOT!

They're taking my nutrition class n my application will be processed :yeah::yeah: What a relieve :)

Oh no they are golden compared to UTA. UTA's deadline was June 5th and we won't know for a while. I applied there last year and found out that I was denied during finals in May...we applied in January. I can't figure out why it takes them so much longer? maybe because there is a lot of applicants.

And as many apps as they go thru, they have to take your word for it! lol. My advisor emailed me about taking my computer science class. I'm taking it now at TCC. She said it will only count if I am core complete. I don't know if I am, but I can always take it one summer while in nursing school. I also still have to take the woman's studies.

Yeah I totally agree with you. Glad they take peoples words on such important matters.

YAYY!! Happy to hear that, that's a big relief! They have been good this semester will small things like that!

UTA seems....interesting. lol I wouldn't be able to wait that long at all! And yes about the computer science class, my boyfriend graduated from TWU Dallas in May, and he also took the computer class in the summer during his nursing classes. I also took mine while he took his to get it out of the way, its a super easy class. Pretty simple. Might as well take it over like wintermester how easy it is. And if you are core complete, you dont need to take Woman's studies either.

@cienfueguera....I got the same email as you about the nutrition course....I took it 11 years ago and I def do not have it and he said they need to have it. How did you track yours down so quickly? Or did they accept something else?

After I submitted the application I checked for my transcripts and since I saw that my course transferred as an 1000 level I called and they explained what was happening and told me to have my syllabus on hand because they were going to ask for a copy, so I called my college and spoke with my professor and she was able to email it to me. Try contacting the biology or nutrition dept from where you took it to see what happens. Explain what your situation is and you'll see they will help you. Good luck
