TWU Houston Spring 2015 Applicants

Published

Hi - I am applying to TWU Houston Campus for Spring 2015 and I wanted to see any other 2015 TWU hopefuls out there!

I will be taking Microbiology this summer so that I can have my core courses completed by Sept. 1st. As of right now I have first-try A's in AP I and II as well as Statistics... Just need to get my Micro completed and out of the way. I am a very nervous because I was not as focused on school as I should have been when I was younger. My cumulative GPA is only 3.4. Ugh! My prereq GPA is 3.8.

Also, I took the dreaded TEAS V test this week and my score was not as high as I would have liked but I passed! 77%. Anyone else take their TEAS yet? How did you do?

This waiting is getting to me. I can't stand the silence. Has anyone heard anything? I know it is still early but.......

Nothing on my end. But I've only checked 5 times today... maybe I need to check again. Bwahahahahaaaa.

Heads up, check your TWU email frequently... I received an email yesterday afternoon from an advisor questioning my Component Area Option and said I had 5 days to respond to the email or they would make my application ineligible.

I haven't received an email from TWU since July, so naturally I call them to find out if they even knew who I am ;) They told me that my application has been processed, they didn't have any questions or additional requirements, AND I SHOULD HEAR FROM THEM IN 1-2 WEEKS!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wow, that's very soon! I thought we wouldn't hear anything until late October!

That's what I thought! I have a countdown on my phone for it and everything. I was shocked when the woman on the phone told me that. I super glad I've been processed, and I'm going to try my hardest not to get my hopes up...but my birthday is next week, and what a sweet birthday present that would be!

Thank you for sharing!! Two weeks would be October 8th! I wish we could fast forward.

I pray you get your birthday wish. I am going to put a countdown on my phone too.

Oh no kidding! My countdown is for October 27, which is 8 weeks from the deadline. I'm not changing it! 33 more days!

What is the Component Area Option? I saw spaces for those on the GPA calculations and I didn't know what to put for them!

I agree too, that's much sooner than I was expecting, now I'm even more nervous! PS, maybe I'll call too as I've only ever received the email stating my application has been submitted...

"Component Area Option" means that if I were not "Core Complete" on my transcripts, I would be responsible for the Multicultural Women’s Studies as well as an additional math course. I have a degree, so that makes me core complete but the transcript HAS to say it. It turns out the electronic transcript from Lone Star College system does not indicate "Core Complete" on it, even though I called before to make sure it does. :banghead: So now, I need to either request a hard copy and ask that it says "core complete" (which I wouldn't know until TWU opens it) or I need to get a signed letter from my advisor indicating as such.

Thankfully, TWU's advisor said since I replied to her email within the 5 days, my application will continue to be considered, I would just need to submit the proof by the program's start date should I get selected.
