  1. Hi there! You have to take it at TWU, unless you are "core complete". Contact a counselor or adviser at your school and ask them if you are. If they say you are, ask them to have your transcript indicate "CORE COMPLETE" on it as it will not automatically put on there. At least at Lone Star, they didn't just add it, I had to ask them to add it. Also, I had to have the school send a printed copy of my transcript to TWU as it didn't say the words "CORE COMPLETE" on the electronic one. Good luck!!
  2. Here is the link for Houston's FB page... https://www.facebook.com/groups/728046073961151/
  3. I searched and didn't see one so I created it. Search for TWU Houston SON Class of May 2017. I had to add my husband to start it so as soon as someone else requests to join, I'll boot him out! I look forward to working hard with all of you!
  4. Congrats everyone!!! I'm in too. I'm still doing the happy dance! Anyone create the FB page yet?
  5. ACCEPTED!!!!!!! OMG I'm crying. By the way, hi guys, I'm Angel and applied for Houston campus. YESSSSSS!!!! I tried for Spring and didn't get in. SO SO SO SO excited.
  6. I'm in the same boat... prior to the application deadline, advisor said my prerequisite gpa was plenty competitive. I got 77 on my TEAS and wow did I kick myself when I saw all the scores. I should have retaken the TEAS. Oh well, nothing can be done now. Just got to believe IT WILL HAPPEN!!! I’m getting prepared to kick some booty for Feb’s application deadline.
  7. Hi - My A&P lecture was 6 hours on Saturdays (zzzzzzz) with a professor that had a VERY-VERY heavy accent. It was frustrating taking these long classes feeling like I retained NOTHING. YouTube became my best friend as there are full lectures online - I watched a lot of online lectures. Also, these guys: Bozeman Science, Crash Course, Khan's Academy, break down specific things. For instance, search YouTube for Crash Course Muscular System... hilarious and informative! This helped me get through Chemistry too. Hang in there and Good Luck!
  8. I figured... too good to be true to be both campuses. LOL!
  9. Did they say 395 for both campuses or just Houston?
  10. "Component Area Option" means that if I were not "Core Complete" on my transcripts, I would be responsible for the Multicultural Women’s Studies as well as an additional math course. I have a degree, so that makes me core complete but the transcript HAS to say it. It turns out the electronic transcript from Lone Star College system does not indicate "Core Complete" on it, even though I called before to make sure it does. So now, I need to either request a hard copy and ask that it says "core complete" (which I wouldn't know until TWU opens it) or I need to get a signed letter from my advisor indicating as such. Thankfully, TWU's advisor said since I replied to her email within the 5 days, my application will continue to be considered, I would just need to submit the proof by the program's start date should I get selected.
  11. Heads up, check your TWU email frequently... I received an email yesterday afternoon from an advisor questioning my Component Area Option and said I had 5 days to respond to the email or they would make my application ineligible.
  12. Nothing on my end. But I've only checked 5 times today... maybe I need to check again. Bwahahahahaaaa.
  13. I used the TEAS study guide to study for the science. I made sure I knew that guide forward and backward. It is a lot of studying for so few questions. If I didn't understand how something worked, I watched YouTube videos from CrashCourse, Bozeman Science as well as Khan academy.
  14. Hi ealba! I hear ya... I work full time, trying to save and pay off any debts before I go into school fulltime. Good luck to you! Have you taken the TEAS yet?
  15. I just spoke with TWU pre-nursing advisor and she said that since I already have my Associates Degree, and once I complete Microbiology, I will most likely be considered "Core Complete" and will not need to take the Multicultural Women's Studies class or Math 1013. She said to check with my current school's advisor and have them either put it on my transcript or ask them to provide a letter indicating that I am core complete. She indicated that a certain number of completed transfer hours would make a student core complete, so if you do not have your AA yet, I would check with your advisor to see if you meet the core complete requirements!
