TWU Houston Spring 2015 Applicants

U.S.A. Texas

Published

Hi - I am applying to TWU Houston Campus for Spring 2015 and I wanted to see any other 2015 TWU hopefuls out there!

I will be taking Microbiology this summer so that I can have my core courses completed by Sept. 1st. As of right now I have first-try A's in AP I and II as well as Statistics... Just need to get my Micro completed and out of the way. I am a very nervous because I was not as focused on school as I should have been when I was younger. My cumulative GPA is only 3.4. Ugh! My prereq GPA is 3.8.

Also, I took the dreaded TEAS V test this week and my score was not as high as I would have liked but I passed! 77%. Anyone else take their TEAS yet? How did you do?

Thank you Lizzyagu89 for your encouraging post. I was wondering if we will have to go through an interview process to be accepted. Do you know anything about that? Also can we go ahead and take the patho class before we start nursing school?

I have completed my application and turned in most of my transcripts. I have a 3.5 GPA right now but I am hoping to add two more A's to that in a few days. I scored an 85 on my TEAS V test.

Hello,

I was wondering if what kind of medical experience everyone has. I have been teaching for the last 9 years so I don't have any.

I have no experience as well. I am a teacher.

After some long waiting to be initially accepted into TWU, I have finally submitted my nursing application this evening, yay! Is there a way to check the status of received test scores, transcripts, etc.?

I just completed my second year at my University which has led me to be able to apply to the nursing program, the only type of medical experience I have is administrative work (a job I've held over the summers at a local doctors office) :).

Thanks for the reply Slmarchi. I was beginning to think everyone left. I haven't seen a comment on here in a while. I am getting so excited the closer we get to the deadline. I can't wait!!! I am looking for a job in the hospital setting.

Chavoncrn, what grade do you teach? I taught 2nd grade.

They don't do interviews and medical experience doesn't get looked at as much. The only experience I've had was working at an Animal clinic being a Vet Tech. So for anyone who has no experience, I wouldn't worry too much about that !

I teach 4th grade.

So I know we are allowed to take the teas more then once for this semester, does anyone know if we can take it more then 2 times? I've only taken it once but am freaking out about taking it Thursday!

Hi All,

We know this is a four-semester program for those who had a bachelor degree. Does anyone know it is a 15-month or 24-month program?

Deadline

"The test must be taken and scores received by the College of Nursing prior to February 1st for fall admission and September 1st for spring admission. Students may only take the test once per application period. If the test is taken twice in the same application period, we will use the first score only. If the test is taken in two separate application periods, we will use only the most recent score (the one taken right before the deadline for which you are applying). Since the TEAS V minimum score requirement has recently changed, for the Spring 2015 application period (September 1, 2014 deadline), ONLY we will allow students to take the exam more than once, and we will use the most recent attempt. THIS IS ONLY FOR THE SPRING 2015 ADMISSION CYCL."

Entrance Exam - TWU College of Nursing - Texas Woman's University

So, technically, you can take more than once (as many times as you want), but given the deadline of Sept 1st, I think you only have time to take it one more time. I wish you good luck!
