I could not for the life of me find a thread for people who were going to be going to Houston in the fall, so here we go.
I was going out for the fast track 2009 in Dallas, got denied and put back in the fall applicant pool, then BAM:D, got hit with the shocker last night when I got home from work that I had been accepted to the regular BSN program in Houston.
I'm really excited to start a new chapter and I thought this would be a good way to meet other members of the class before we get there. So shout out where you're from and your background so we can all get to know each other before August!
(P.S.- I've also been accepted to the community college in my hometown, which is closer, cheaper, and probably going to be easier, but I think it would be borderline offensive to turn down such an awesome offer, let me know what you think)
so i was browsing the TWU web and i saw in the academic calendar that advising started march 2 which i highly believe cause no one got letters til april. also i was searchin classes and some classes are already full...i was looking in the 4000s level classes. but i couldnt find anything on where it shows us what our plan looks like, like an example of a defgree plan..
do you guys think thats the same book we would need, if so i think i wanna buy it and start studyin it, cause i HATE ANATOMY with a passion lol so i think it may take me longer to adapt to patho lol
im thinkin of takin it online...what about you guys

Hi guys. For all those planning to take patho in summer. Denton/ Dallas and the instructor is Merry McAurthur (online). She normally begins chapter 14 Part Two because the CON requested to teach targeted subjects that could cover the entire systems with a short period of time. It was intense! When I took her class last fall semester, she informed us that the online patho is more challenging than in person lectures. But in my opinion, it depends on your learning styles. The book used may be different in Houston idk. But the college of nursing has specifically requested this text to be used:
Pathophysiology
The Biological Basis of Disease in Adults and Children ( 5th Edition)
By: Kathryn L. McCance and Sue Huether
Hint:
You are expected to know you A & P already ( that is not as emphasized but it's there) compared to the pathological mechanisms. Many people struggled on the pathological mechanism.
Get the accompany study guide ( It sorta helpped but I found out it was not enough)
Brush up on your medical terminology.
I would suggest studying now.
Good luck everyone.
