TWU Houston Fall 2009

Published

I could not for the life of me find a thread for people who were going to be going to Houston in the fall, so here we go.

I was going out for the fast track 2009 in Dallas, got denied and put back in the fall applicant pool, then BAM:D, got hit with the shocker last night when I got home from work that I had been accepted to the regular BSN program in Houston.

I'm really excited to start a new chapter and I thought this would be a good way to meet other members of the class before we get there. So shout out where you're from and your background so we can all get to know each other before August!

(P.S.- I've also been accepted to the community college in my hometown, which is closer, cheaper, and probably going to be easier, but I think it would be borderline offensive to turn down such an awesome offer, let me know what you think)

whats the TSNA thing..

I'm definitely taking patho online! and no packet for me :( sigh

Princess, if the patho instructor is Dr. Merry McAurthur, then I would suggest begin reading chapter 14..ASAP I know forsure, she teaches this class in summer (online). Dr. McAuthor is tough and super strict. However , she is one of the most highly regarded instructors at CON. The book itself is written in such a professional caliber, that it takes time to understand and grasp everything. I took A & P in Collin County Community College and the text used seems like grade school compared to the patho book and class. Her tests are all different. It comes from the author's test bank and the test will never be same. She changes them all the time. So my best advise? Start reading soon.

It says it's Grigsby, are you familiar with that prof Christine?

No, I'm not familiar with that professor:rolleyes: . Maybe that is good news for everyone :D! Perhaps this one can be flexible. Hopefully this professor will not be tough. Try to contact the professor if he/she can give you guys a syllabus before the online class begins, so you guys can get a head start as well as find out what book you need...but I'm pretty sure it's the same one I used....

Guys, good luck on patho. Hopefully this professor will not be brutal compared to what I experienced. Meanwhile will I try to find information on pharm for future prep. The nurses I work with (ones who graduated from TWU) said that the professors use their own notes and calculations....no text available. So this is worth investigating.
