TWU Houston Fall 2014 Applicants

Hello, my name's Tien and I'm going to apply for TWU Houston Fall 14'. I noticed there's a topic for Dallas but none for Houston so I'm starting this one, hoping it will be a place for us hopeful applicants to come and share information.

BTW, my stats are: GPA 3.892, TEAS V 85.3%, 2/4 first attempt, and previous BA in Business. I'm scared b/c of my "1st attempt" since I see most that got in have 3 or 4/4 :nailbiting:...

3.78 pre-req GPA

4.0 Science GPA

3/4 first attempts

Previous degree (BBA International Business)

77% on TEAS

Hey, I'm just curious that whether the school asks for recommendation letter or not ( for upper-division application). I really appreciate it if someone can tell me what to expect on the application. Thanks. Good luck to all!

Unless something has changed, they don't ask for a letter. Like others have said, admission is based on the first attempts, GPA, previous degree and TEAS.

I just graduated from TWU and I'm pretty sure I got in only because I had 4/4 first attempts. My GPA was 3.6ish but I barely made the cutoff on the TEAS. Based on my stats, I don't think the TEAS test score gets much weight at all (I think they see it as pass/fail).

Last fall they received acceptance emails towards the end of March. Hopefully that will be the case again.

Has anyone's transcript not been updated yet? It's been about 3 weeks since I sent two of my transcripts and TWU still has not updated mine. Is this normal? Or should I call/email them?

I think you should email OAP or call Denton CoN @ 940 898 2401. Hope it helps!

I would call them as well. Mine took a little while to update, but you want to be sure they have everything. So far, I have been very happy with the assistance provided by TWU. From Denton, to the Nursing Dept in Houston, everyone has been so helpful!

They had a couple of know days in Denton over the past couple of weeks when the cold weather hit.. it probably delayed things a bit.

Thanks for all your suggestions, everyone! I actually emailed the department in charge of updating transcripts and within 24 hours everything was updated! Finally relieved to see it changed. I hope my application is still considered though since it took a while to update. My transcripts were sent before the deadline too.

In pioneer portal you can select to view your unofficial transcript, once you select your academic level and submit, your transfer credit should appear.
