TWU Fast Track Summer '09

Is anyone out there applying for the fast track program starting in the summer for the Dallas campus? I am applying. Will have my pre-reqs completed in January. I am very stressed about them only accepting 30 students!!! Does anyone have any thoughts, concerns, anything??!? I think I am going crazy waiting for April to come to know if I got in or not! :bugeyes:

it can be any level chemistry. i have friends in both accelerated and regular programs. intro is fine.

sophia1983- i need to fill out a FAFSA as well. do you know if they take your current income into account, or the fact that you will not be working if you were accepted into the program? with my income now i'm not sure i'd qualify for assistance.

i've always wondered the same thing...i've always assumed that they would assume that you wouldn't be working as much if you're a full-time student, but i've never filled out the FAFSA before, so i have no idea. i just submitted mine too.

FaFSA will calculate your EFC which is an estimate on how much they expect to pay out of your pocket according to your 2008 tax return. Usually if you don't make like 60000 a year (both you and your spouse if you have one), you will be qualified. You might not be quality for pell grant but definitely loans at least. Under current bad economy stituation, I really think taking loans will be a good option. :)

my parents only made 45,000 maybe almost 50,00 together and i didnt qualify for any financial aid. our efc was 4300. i had to get loans if that helps anybody. but now that im an independent student they went off my income alone. i only made around 12,000 and now my efc is 0.

if you are independent, you will get a fat pell grant. I'm not sure if they give pell grant to people who already have a BA degree though.

i dont know though, because i believe you should be eligible for it. its tricky how the govt works. i got a pell grant a L O N G time ago it was 400 and they sent it to me, but after that i didnt qualify, so will they do the same thing, send it to me, or will they send it to the school. oh by the way i didnt apply to this program (accelerated) but i wish all of you the best of luck.
