Is anyone out there applying to TWU for the Fall of 2010? I got this idea from a previous thread and thought I should get one started for this semester, so that we can help each other and communicate with each other?
I have taken the Hesi-A2 and got a 74.8 on it so they didn't even look at my application. I live on campus so any help or information I can give just let me know. I'm excited and feel good about this deadline.
I would love to meet up and get to know each other! Do you know if they offer patho or pharm in Houston in the summer? That would be awesome. Though, I still wish I could take patho at Lee College.
I would love to move inside the loop in Houston (and closer to TWU/med center) for many reasons, including the hassles of commuting. I would love to live near the light rail so I didn't have to drive at all. If I can find the funds, that might be possible, but so far, I'm not so sure. I do have a good thing going with my parents right now (if only the location were a tad bit better). They pretty much rock.

I don't know if they offer these courses in Houston, I need to find that out because I want to take them in the summer also. Are you close to Baytown? (you mentioned Lee College). Have you applied for any scholarships yet? I did, as many as I could...I need/want all the free money I can get!! I live with my parents right now also. Kinda want to move out, but like you, have a good thing and it may be best for me to stay at home just a little longer.
I'm still in shock that I didn't get in with a 3.94 my Hesi score wasn't great but I thought an 88 would get me in... Congrats to all of you, you deserve it!!!!
I want it bad, hopefully you will get in. I'm assuming they will send out a second, and maybe even third, round of acceptances because some people will decline admission. Is TWU the only school you applied to?
DHaywood, yup, I live near Baytown in Mont Belvieu.
Dolsen, I got my first degree from Texas A&M (sociology is useless). I've also taken classes at Blinn College in Bryan and at Lee College in Baytown.
yes TXcatcher, it was the only school I applied to, I just thought that was good enough to get in.. I had a luncheon Tuesday for a scholarship that I am getting and sat next to the Director of student life and he informed me that last semester the lowest gpa was a 3.6. Thanks for your encouraging words I know God has a plan for so regardless I will be okay, just a little disappointed. I still want to meet up with you all and celebrate.
I understand... It seems like your GPA and even HESI score are pretty good from what I've seen. So long as they haven't officially told you no yet, I would definitely hold out hope! And definitely come out when we do...hopefully someone will plan that. I am a horrible planner... :chair:
Ditto to the horrible planner part. Plus I'm too full of EXCITEMENT to get anything done! I just keep telling my friends "Let's celebrate!" and when they ask where I just say "I don't care, think of something!" lol Like, I already did the hard work and got myself in, it's their job as my friends to take me out! (Just kidding, that sounds so selfish lol)
Online it says that Orientation is August 26 & 27 and it was last updated on March 9 so I thiiink that means for us... But I thought it would be a little sooner than that! Has anyone heard anything different?
I want to call the Houston undergrad program coordinator but then I don't want to bug, you know? I called the Student Life office to make sure all my STARS stuff was in order and correct and I felt like the girl was a little annoyed with me (cuz everything was fine, I was just being a worry-wart).
I'm super anxious to get that information packet in the mail that the e-mail was talking about...
Oh, on a side note... Does anyone know how many people actually prefer UT Houston or UTMB or some other school to TWU? I know TWU was my first choice but my friend applied also and she hasn't heard anything. I know that her GPA is slightly lower than mine and her HESI score also but I feel bad that I'm so excited to have gotten in and she hasn't heard anything. :uhoh21:
I keep telling her like "Well a lot of people are going to decline their offers cuz they applied to Dallas and Houston but they really want Dallas" or "Well all those ppl that want another school are going to decline cuz TWU was their back-up or something" and she's all sad because I got an e-mail and she didn't. I just feel so bad!
I have been watching the posts and want to say congrats to all that got accepted. I am applying for spring so I hope to get some good vibes my way...
I want it Bad, Do not give up because no news is still good news! Did you apply to the Houston or Dallas campus? I am just as shocked that you havent heard anything because you GPA is amazing!!! I do know that Dallas is alot harder to get in than Houston. Well I am praying that you hear something soon!!
Natnat - I'm not sure about the first choice school thing. I know TWU was my only choice, but I know a few people who applied to lots of programs. I would think some people would think of UTH as first choice because it's ranked higher in US News & World Report...or it was last time I checked. I was accepted to both campuses, but I am going to Houston, so that frees up a spot in Dallas. This gets me wishing I saw my classmates from last semester to see if they got in...
I haven't heard about orientation or anything yet. People keep asking me when it all starts, but I have no idea. I just say fall. I've already applied for a bunch of scholarships on STARS, but I guess I should go back and check them again. When I applied for them, it said the deadline was March 1, and the acceptance email said to apply by March 15....confusing.
I really just want to start tomorrow! I do not like anxiety or suspense or anything of the sort! For example, I don't watch movies until I know the plot and how they end...I'm weird.
