Is anyone out there applying to TWU for the Fall of 2010? I got this idea from a previous thread and thought I should get one started for this semester, so that we can help each other and communicate with each other?
I have taken the Hesi-A2 and got a 74.8 on it so they didn't even look at my application. I live on campus so any help or information I can give just let me know. I'm excited and feel good about this deadline.
Good luck and I look forward to meeting you!
Hey y'all, did anybody by chance read the Yahoo news today..."Specialist nurses paid higher salaries than family doctors"........average base salary of $189,000 offered to certified nurse anesthetists, or CRNAs....That will be us in a few years!!!!!!
Funny, my ultimate goal has always been to go to medical school, but I will definitely do this for now and try again later.
I'm so happy!!! Can you tell I'm excited???!!! :anpom::anpom::anpom:
Yup, I live about 20-30 miles outside the loop, but I pretty much spend all my "out" time inside the loop...
That's funny! I think I wouldn't mind going to med school one day...probably 10-15 years from now when I pay off my first degree and then this one... I saw a dr on Trauma: Life in the ER who went to med school in (I'm assuming) his 40s-50s. I figure, I can do that too! We'll see...
I'm willing to meet up but not sure if I can. Don't have my own vehicle at the moment. Plus I am a youngin compared to some of yall I think!! I'm only 20 so I'm not allowed at some "happy hour"s. lol
As for who's in or around Houston... I live in Northwest Houston outside the loop but still inside the belt. About 20 mins from downtown (depending on TRAFFIC lol).

I saw that article just a minute ago!!!
That's actually my long-term goal, but CRNA programs are sooo competitive and hard (like, we were stressing about THIS, can you imagine?) Like I know UTHSC has one but idk how many they take in a year... I know BCM only accepts 15 people a year!!! That's insane! But that's something I'm not even going to think about right now. That's like four or five years into the future!!! (Cuz of the TWU program, then you have to have like 2 years experience... lol)
My ultimate goal used to be med school as well but at this point I'm not interested anymore... I do want to get my Master's and possibly my Doctorate, but in Nursing... not medicine.

Wow, that is crazy! I knew UTHSC had a CRNA program, but I didn't know it was that competitive. UTMB also has a nurse pract program. I'm considering that also. I'm with you, right now I want to focus on these next two years and hit it hard so that when the option of either med school or the master's program comes up, my grades look good. I don't want anything getting in my way of whatever decision I make when that time comes.
I wish we could just go straight into the Master's program, instead of having to wait. I want to get it done as quickly as possible.
